Check Vi/vodafone/Idea not letting incoming calls connect after plan expiry

I know there is a 7 days grace period for incoming calls after plan expiry in Vi/vodafone/Idea but recently I was unable to call a friend having an idea number & when I asked him to check it with others he found out that no number is able to connect to his number. I asked him to do the usual steps(restart phone, select network manually etc) but no success. Finally I asked him about his plan status & he told me that his monthly 49 plan expired 2 days ago. Since I am hearing a lot of negative things about Vi nowadays so just to test I asked him to recharge with 49 monthly pack & as soon as he recharged the calls start getting connected.

So those people who think their Vi number can still receive incoming calls for 7 days after monthly plan expiry should confirm this by calling that number else they might not even be aware that for those 7 days there will be no incoming calls.

Generally people don’t give a damn of that incoming calls and recharge their sim as soon as their outgoing is barred and in your case you knew the 7 days Grace period but when you checked they actually had barred incoming facility as well. All operators are now duping everyone since they have to repay huge debt and after motabhai’s recent statement they are afraid about their future.

As of now I know chortel too does some cheap things but won’t lose their prestige as this shitty Vi.

Only go Airtel/Jio if you need peace from all crap. I am personally using Airtel from the last 10years so are my parents from several long years grin

Yes bro, also have an airtel sim & they allow incoming call even on the last day of grace period.

Vi Twitter team is totally useless. Today I contacted them regarding not being able to activate Rs 48 3GB data pack via USSD. First they gave me a link to recharge via Web/App. Next they raised a “Barring” request! I am done with the Twitter service. Absolute waste of time.

Vi is worse. I had to run around a lot when similar thing happened even online recharge started failing and balance reduced to zero. Had to complain at vi store. Now waiting to exost main balance to port to jio.

Actually vi is better than airtel I use vi as secondary sim

Airtel does not give incoming a single day extra than grace period but vi extended my incoming validity many months without me recharging or debiting from my main balance automatically

Mistakes happen bro smile A bird in the hand is worth two in the bushes. I will take airtel 100% certain 7 days incoming call facility in grace period over Vi’s for some incoming working for months after plan expiry to this case of incoming gone just after plan expiry.

Port out your secondary vi airtel to bsnl if you have good bsnl network in your area.

My balance of ₹46 was deducted but they did not extend validity.
Fought for a month and then they refunded

If you want number to keep active only and incoming calls, sms then bsnl is only option nowadays.

Actually true in my case,
I don’t Recharge jio/airtel/vi for months
While VI keeps giving incoming call extension once or twice a month,
Airtel stops almost immediately and they hardly give such benefits….
Jio is best when it comes to incoming calls and msgs without any active plan but then I’ll place vi before airtel @jeff_bezos_amazon_owner

I changed from vodafone(hutch) to airtel after 10 years just 20 days ago. I almost had tears in my eyes when i saw full network in my room and even bathroom. 4G speed is between 50-100mbps always. I can finally play among us with my cousins without sitting in balcony. I would recommend anyone facing network problem, please do MNP. Its easy and sooo worth it. Just be prepared to sit on toilet for hours.

complained them several times but they did not resolve it ..

whenever i call someone call gets connected to some other person and i disconnect and call again then it gets connected to right person . it happens with me most of the time.

I have one vodafone number(Delhi NCR circle). Plan got expired on 11th Nov(3 days back), no issue with incoming calls as of now in grace period. Never faced this issue of incoming stopped in grace previously also(I am using grace period every month).

My friend also never faced this issue until now. Keep checking, maybe this will start happening to some users from now on.

I got a message like: Your Airtel pack ends TOMORROW. If not recharged, Rs45 will be deducted on 17-Dec-20 for 28days validity.
Is also stopped Incoming grace period? I am airtel customer from last 10 years

V! has auto debited ₹45 without any notification today, even though disabled auto-debit feature (hope i done it 1.5 years back). My validity expires on yesterday, i was planned to do ₹100 recharge (as spl offer i will get regular TT with 28 days validity) today, but V! did this crap persevere
I think atleast airtel sending alert msg regularly before deduction of service validity extension, but V! is really bad !

Do the disabling of auto-debit again, in fact do any setting done before merger of vodafone & idea again.
