Not 24 hours recording.. Just event based when motion is detected
I am having cp plus E35a, have inserted a memory card, alerts when there is a motion and records it.
There are soo many models (wifi models - don't need DVR, standalone, support good night vision with memory card recording is good with instant motion alerts to phone). How to distinguish which is better? Also, online is better or offline?
I am in the same boat looking for such IP camera.. I already have Mi Cam 1080p. But they have discontinued storing motion detection events in Cloud Storage.
So far, checked TP Link and CP Plus. As per reviews, CP plus has connectivity and noise during rotation. TP link seems best so far to me.
I am yet to finalise it.
Since Jio Backup Broadband has been discontinued, with Airtel following suit, what's the least expensive way to keep a CCTV cam connected to the Internet?
I think we should avoid companies like MI, Realme, TP Link, etc as they can discontinue cloud storage on any model anytime they want. MI has done it already for two models. CP plus seems a better option as their whole business revolves around their Cameras and for that we can trust it.

I am using Tapo C200 with SDcard for few years and its working fine. Option to have continuous recording and/or motion based on the time range. All control through app which is good. Notification is sent to phone and since camera is connected to wifi, can watch from anywhere. No need for cloud subscription. Maybe check if there is newer model of Tapo and get that.
Tapo is working good for me
Good informative thread. Any suggestion for indoor wifi camera I just need to put one in kitchen. Found Xiaomi in 2500, Tapo 2000, IMOU 1500, CP plus 1400.... All of them with wifi, 360 rotate, human detaction, sd card insert option for recording. Seems I am ok with all of these features as no specific req other than reliable live feed.
What I am concerned is warranty service support. Xiaomi has 6 month warranty, rest all have 2 yr warranty. But reviews says very very bad warranty support.
First all nobody has service center network: cpplus has one in whole delhi, same with tapo tplink, imou has in chennai.....so rather than spending money in travel in delhi, one can rather buy a new one. Xiaomi has wider network but reviews says service center people not trained to repair cameras, and after 6 months if any problem then consider it as dead.
How is your experience on warranty claims? And is their any easy way to get them repaired. Travelling to 50km away service center in delhi is not advisible option for a rs2000 product.
Please provide your warranty claim experience. Does their service center accept devices via courier?
I don't think cloud video surveillance storage is free.
