I have a HDFC Rewards Debit card which gives 5% saving on certain stores like smart bazar, irctc, apollo, etc. When I login to my net banking to redeem point,I get different sets of point system (Screenshot attached). I also use this card to book train tickets through smartbuy. Can someone explain the difference between these two point/cashback components.IMG20240624194346

Hmm your rewards debit card will fetch these reward points on partner merchants as follows

I think the extra reward points than the normal is called promotional points I think (i dont have this so not sure) -> someone please confirm

beware normal points have 12 months validity and promotional points have 3 months validity only

Rewards Points is Card feature, should be explained in Card product page &/or T&C.
Promotional Cashback is for additional standalone offers ("Promotion") that HDFC may run on certain card(s). These can be targeted & spontaneous, spend based, festive related, etc. Promotional Cashback has shorter validity depending on specific promotion & don't count towards monthly quota for Card feature Reward/Cashback.
(Others can add/correct if I missed something)
