Buying Projector: Is it worth it?

Hi guys! Im in a rented house, already installed a 40’ TV in my room. Was thinking to upgrade. Is projector worth it? Im a huge cinephile and watch everything on OTT platforms. I have never used a projector before, dont know how it works, whether ott platforms are installed within or there will be a usb option for firestick? What about sound? Havent given a thought about buying a new TV yet as we will be moving houses, not sure someday my room will be smaller doesnt want to have a huge tv though :/ Your suggestions will be a huge help.
