Buying Airtel Xtreme box for normal CRT TV

Respected Dimers! I've been using Airtel DTH since it's launch and now I need to change my set top box as it became old. Ours is a normal old TV and the box is normal SD. I heard that Xtreme box can be used on normal TVs too. My questions are
1. Does it need any extra devices for set-up like AV- hdmi converter etc?
2. I won't use the internet regularly. I'll use it only during weekends. I heard that the Xtreme box hangs a lot. Is that true?
3. Will there be any difficulty for elders who got used to the old interface to use the Xtreme box for changing channels etc?

Don't know about the pricing but chromecast or fire tv would be a better choice imho

namaste @NobiNobita It's time to part with your CRT TV. You can free up space and turn it into a vintage museum where visitors can indulge in the nostalgia of the '50s, '70s, and '80s......😃
