While selecting the Seats - customer will be quoted a cheaper price but upon checkout/payment page BMS phakars overcharges by changing the price of each ticket & that too without notifying the customer in any way.

Please not we are not talking convenience fee but its about showing a set ticket price but fraudulently overcharging without notification. 

Now BMS phakars reply is same as other online/app phakars i.e. BMS is just a intermediary platform so they disown all liability 

BookMyShow HAVE DYNAMIC PRICING POLICY ON TICKETS IN PLACE SO BE VERY CAREFUL (make sure to cross check the ticket price u saw while selecting seats page is also same on confirm booking page)

Bms enforces Dynamic Pricing and you can confirm with chat support.

thay have backed it up in terms and conditions by which they bms will scam customers.

may be if you check past tickets or carefully purchase future tickets then u may notice.

But issue here is before checkout if price changes then for example Amazon notifies customer about price change or else does not allow checkout but bms phakars are very sneaky about overcharging

10am you select a seat with ticket displayed @ Rs100
10am you proceed & click on red button of Pay Rs100
10am But on confirm booking page bms fraudulently changes ticket price @ Rs 110

My complain is even if you overcharge then bms should have the guts to at least mention & notify the price increase.

Never seen such issue in bms. Can you share  your exact transaction ? What was price shown initially and what was checkout price? How much time you taken for checkout?

transaction was completed within 10-30 seconds from seat selection to payment successful confirmation. 

worst case within 59 seconds at most as screen shot times of both seat selction as well as booking confirmation show same hour + same minute number.

clearly it was the theatre which increased the prices. without giving more details and just repeating the same thing on DD and tagging all people replying what you like as bms staff is not going to make BMS scammers. everyone knows BMS business.  normally tickets prices do not increase in seconds and even if it did it was the theatre which increased it . it maybe a fault on bms not to inform you, which u can give as a feedback or chargeback with ur card department of u have proofs. you cannot expect makemytrip/flipkart  like notifications as  these are two different fields and variations in prices of the flights or products is normal.

variations are ok but not notifying a customer = fraud so u accepting this malpractice does not make it normal. online platforms need to own up their resposibilities instead of playing the blame game

OP, 'Fraud' is a strong word. If you are so convinced you were defrauded please go find a lawyer and file a case against BMS. On winning the case, come back and create a new post how you made BMS accept they defrauded you and paid you lakhs in compensation! Then I'll upvote your post.

This is a bug. I have seen it too. On the seat layout I see Rs 220, 200 and 180, I select the Rs 200 seats and on checkout page they become Rs 220. So, if you do Next-Next quickly and don't validate the amounts you might miss it. It has happened twice with me this year. The right approach would be to take screenshots and email their tech support. I have been too lazy to do that.

I use BMS every weekend (for the past 9 years); so you can take my word on it.

Dynamic pricing is an altogether different beast. Again, that is nowhere close to defrauding. It is a simple demand-supply business at work.

1st I dont need your or anybodys validation or upvote as onus of this post is a PSA to alert others to avoid being defrauded by bookmyshow.


Regardless thanks for confirming that it had happened to you twice this year where you were overcharged by bookmyshow without customer's prior consent & notification.


Everyone is entitled to own perspective & in your case being overcharged that too without clearly mentioning about price increase to paying customer is merely bug or business.

But to me this malpractice of bookmyshow where without notification or clear message to paying customer of being overcharged = fraud as act of deceit (at the beginning of buying process the quoted seat selection ticket price is cheaper) was committed as the bms app checkout flow is designed in such a way to avoid notifying the customer of being overcharged/costlier price & thereby bms gains from the difference when the buyer's purchase decision was based on the cheaper price quoted upon seat selection at the outset which was never kept at the end thereby the paying customer had to incur loss


I dont have any issue with bookmyshow's dynamic pricing & they are free to charge rs220 for a rs200 ticket but they must  quote rs220 at the outset when selecting seats and/or make sure to notify customer in any possible way & that too clearly that rs200 seat will now be charged rs220 if the price that customer agreed to on seat selection page is no more valid

It's not BMS. It's PVR INOX! This doesn't happen with other cinemas much
