BOBCARD and RuPay partner to launch EMI feature on UPI payments

BOBCARD, a fully owned subsidiary of Bank of Baroda, has partnered with RuPay to introduce an EMI service for UPI Payments. This new feature allows RuPay BOBCARD holders to conveniently convert their purchases into EMIs by simply scanning a QR code using the UPI app or Online transactions using the UPI app. This makes payments easier and more streamlined for cardholders.
RuPay BOBCARD users can now easily use UPI to make payments at any merchant that accepts UPI, whether it's online or offline. They can also convert their transactions into EMIs right at the time of purchase. With the festive season just around the corner, this feature comes as a timely solution for effortlessly managing festive shopping.
Customers can directly apply for the EMI facility on their linked RuPay credit card through any UPI app. By accepting the applicable terms and conditions and using their UPI PIN, users grant permission. When shopping, users can choose their preferred EMI term by selecting the EMI option at checkout. This feature allows users to spread the cost of expensive holiday items over reasonable installments. This hassle-free approach is entirely digital and doesn't involve any extra paperwork.
The UPI app enables users to conveniently monitor their ongoing EMIs, ensuring prompt payments and complete transparency, which is crucial, especially during the high-spending festive months. Additionally, customers have the option to convert previous purchases made with their RuPay credit card into EMIs by accessing their transaction history on the UPI app.
This initiative is designed to meet the growing demand for flexible payment options during the festive season and aims to drive the adoption of digital credit solutions across India, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
