BigBasket Gift card/wallet issue
I bought 5K BigBasket GV from @royalraj at 15% discount on Feb-4.

He informed he received the voucher as a company incentive. I paid via Paytm. Added to BB wallet on the same day, and placed an order for 1.5K on Feb-5. After placing the order, I bought another 5K BigBasket GV from @royalraj at 13% discount on Feb-5. Added to BB wallet. My order was delivered on Feb-5 and I received a cashback of Rs 150 in BB wallet. So far so good.

After the order was delivered, the strange thing happened. My remaining BB wallet balance of Rs. 8686 was debited by BigBasket. After multiple follow-ups, I got the following reply from BigBasket.

“We would like to inform you that as per an update from the concerned team, you had paid Rs.1 for the git cards and Rs:5000.00 is credited to the wallet. Hence, we have deactivated the account and debited the gift card amount from the Bigbasket wallet.”

I lost the money in my BigBasket wallet and my 4.5 yrs old BB a/c. I was communicating with @royalraj since this happened and informed him to get the gift card issue sorted out with his company. I haven’t received a clear explanation from his end. Now I doubt the source of the gift card. I request @royalraj to come forward and take the ownership of this issue.
I also request everyone buying BigBasket GVs from other dimers to ask for source proof. BigBasket can take away your wallet money without your consent, if they find something suspicious.

“This is to inform you that GVs were recd. from my company. Further, I always and multiple times told the buyer to use the GV on the same day. They have clearly agreed to this by buying the GV.
So, I am not wrong here. Buyer agreed to this thing and they bought it. I futher informed them that in order to avoid hassles and confusions later on, they should use that on same day by ordering groceries.
I have informed the issue to my company and they are looking into it. But I haven’t heard from them.”

So ,if his GVs were legal , why he was forcing his buyers to use on same day ? / instant .
This statement raises huge red flags .

Yes, I used the GV on the same day. I added to my BigBasket wallet.
I had told @royalraj I’ll place the order the same day/next day.

Next day, before buying the 2nd GV, I had told @royalraj I used 2K from the 5K GV.
@royalraj didn’t tell to use the remaining 3K before buying the 2nd GV.
I clearly told you to use the GV. Simply adding them in your account is not using them. Further, I am not concerned with how much you used and how much is left in your GV. When I gave GV I told to use it but if you used partially, then I am not concerned with it.
And please trade on your own risk , do not involve DD staffs in between .
@abhishek012 I’ve verified @royalraj doesn’t work at Accenture. That was the first alarm.
He is unemployed and hence entered into new GV business. companies always give GV for own use and tax is not charged for food or due to incentive.
Hence, so called street co does not need goods worth 5K, you better pay him Re 1 more to him , being his cost.
@bahuballi whom to blame for the BigBasket account blockage even if I had used the entire amount? I think BigBasket didn’t take any action against me, since they could recover the amount from my wallet.

Worst case scenario – if the seller has got the voucher via some loot, he is not gonna come forward n accept that

Selling gift vouchers bought via illegal means, without disclosure, is plain wrong. No ifs and buts.
In retrospect, @vm7 should have been more cautious but you kind of easily trust people when they have higher karma and no issues reported in past.
Dear @royalraj – Greed make us do wrong things at times which we would have never expected from ourselves. This can happen to the best of us. Request you to please come forward and return the amount to the buyer and settle it amicably. Few bucks are not going to make you rich; good wishes & vibes matter much more than in difficult times. 
Many got saved as they got offer of 40-50% which itself says all.
But you were not so lucky as offer was reasonable and from a old dimer.
Sad part is this bug/trick (I don’t know don’t pm me) whatever it is still working and they haven’t fixed it yet.
People are still selling those gv over telegram, whatsapp for sure the one you got is from the same source.
He Said he have 2.60 Lakhs worth Gvs and his friend got 1.80 Lakhs. So you can imagine the kind of Scam This one can be. If he git Gvs from his company he wouldn’t have redeemed it. Its Simple.

Refund Received from @royalraj Matter closed from My side, Just Want to Say Please believe in Karma system. Even after having so much, you are getting involved in such things. Just Be happy with what you have. Don’t think BB won’t do anything to you, Karma Will work in its own way.

@Cool07 I haven’t got any reliable information on the source of the GVs from @royalraj . I think he was a middle man.
As @Total_Fun mentioned, this could be a payment gateway bug.

Activate my gift card
I am also a long time bigbasket gv seller. If you see someone giving too much discount like 15% please ask them to give a proper gv invoice or email screenshot. Ask sellers to give SS even of you are buying for 7-8% discount. A seller who has nothing to hide will always be more than happy to provide screenshot. Buy from reputed bigbasket gv sellers like @nomag etc… (Sorry if i left someone to tag). If you are getting somewhat same discount in gv site it is recommended to buy from there instead of saving 1-2%
