Beware of Amazon.in poor return policies

Hi All Amazon Customers,

I ordered a tripod from Amazon seller(Smiledrive)through Amazon.in.On receiving the product I didn’t like it so placed a return request within 24 hrs of receiving it. But to my surprise the seller was unwilling to take it back and his excuse was “since the item is as per the description we can’t process a return request.I even requested for purchasing another item in exchange." On complaining to Amazon, they initially assured me about their buyer guarantee program but people beware its all fake, they even don’t bother to check the details and the decision is in sellers favor. In my case they closed the issue stating that “These items must be unopened and in new condition.” Yes I have opened the parcel but the product is unused and in new condition with its warranty, packaging everything intact.

Despite my several requests to answer a simple query that HOW ON EARTH A PERSON CAN CHECK/VERIFY AN ITEM WITHOUT EVEN OPENING THE PARCEL?, they hurriedly closed my return request and didn’t even bother to answer my query.

That’s very good way of doing business . The whole point of purchasing online is when you receive the product, if doesn’t meet your requirement or don’t like it you can always place a return if the item is unused. But I think those dumb heads working at Amazon back-end team forgot this little thing .
