@Jairaj Pyaasa,Anand and Salaam Bombay.. except those I have seen all. Kaun I watched when I was a kid and I hated Manoj Bajpai form that very day. And now I realise those were his acting skills. Will watch Aligarh soon.

Watched Aligarh. Very slow but fun. Chemistry b/w Manoj B. And Rajkumar Rao is https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

@Magus There are quite a few good movies about student politics, revolt … Gulaal,Siva I can remember these two at the moment… Well you definitely should watch the new-age director movies and I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

I guess you haven’t watched Gangs of Wasseypur… If you like Dark Humour you.must check out Ugly

I’ll definitely check them out. But you see, there is something very crucial missing in most of our cine-makers. They simply fail to be all-rounders. When there is a good development of context, they fail in clear characterizations. When the characters are portrayed well, they forget the overall context. The same goes with the use of technology etc. And then there is the problem with casting. So many movies have failed miserably just because they wanted to rope in a big player. A movie like V for Vendetta where the protagonist is not allowed even to show his face is a very distant possibility in our country, in my opinion. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

@Magus It’s not that they can’t make but actually people don’t appreciate their work for the same reason these producers are unwilling to fund them. And as I Sai if you dig deep you may find some wonderful Indian movies… Movies which are unheard of, which were not released. Watch this short film Ahalya you would find it on YouTube

Edit: This thing is true that they don’t do justice to each and every aspect and even I am biased towards the character so I generally don’t give reviews.

You should try Anurag Kashyap’s movies, except Bombay Velvet.

Start with Dev D. Modified version of Devdas.

+1
I somehow felt that this movie is not good after watching the trailer, even did not completely watch it but he till now says that it is audience who was at fault, I never understood why he said that.

Talvar is the best Bollywood movie of last year. I loved it. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

I searched for the download link for the movie: Paanch, but I did not find any good print at all. So I searched in DVD stores, even there I did not find. So I downloaded the same link from torrents. Print is bad, so I am waiting for a better print. If I don’t find, I’ll watch the same print. https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif

I don’t understand Hindi well, so I should even find the subtitles, damn. :-/

@Jairaj @Magus

Got to see 2 non-Hindi movies
Bettada Jeeva (Kannada)
Court (Marathi)

Not much story but simple yet stunning visuals with a message. Basically these are the take on the human activities.

I watched Court in a Film Festival. I liked it very much. It is sarcastic. I loved the way they made several long scenes.

Edit: I haven’t watched Bettada Jeeva, but I have watched other movie – ‘Vidaaya’ from the same director. Even this movie is between average and Good.

Anyways yes it’s a Masterpiece watch the 2nd one too. I don’t want to give spoilers but 2nd is more awesome.
But still the thing I dislike is people just took it as cult due to the very nature of his dialogues and completely overlooked the writing and direction. And never in any Bollywood movie music was used as in this movie.

Lol, yeah. I don’t understand Hindi very well, so I am forced to wait till I get a good print with subtitles. Especially movies like this one or Omkara or Ishkiya and so on, I won’t understand most of the dialogues.

Writing and Direction can’t get better than this. Just Perfect. A huge salute to Anurag Kashyap for making the movies like GoW, Dev D, Black Friday, Ugly. I am not able to find a good print of No Smoking and Paanch. Recently downloaded Gulaal.

Don’t know bro…!!! I watched the movie two times and my first reaction to the movie’s ending was – “What the **** did just happened?”

After watching it again n again, i realized that Anurag tried to end it the Nolan’s way… Multiple Interpretations & Perspectives ..!!

But still have some doubts regarding the concept- Was the whole film a dream? Was just the core part of the film a dream? Did he really lose his fingers at the end or was that just a symbolic scene?

P.S.- Aatma hai toh sharir ishwar hai, aatma nahi toh nashwar hai… https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif
