As per RBI directions banks can only open online accts with adhaar linked sim.
2 Years back I opened Karur Vysya Bank SB account online with my Non-Aadhaar number.
Why do you want to open online. Just request them ( Banks - Pvt or SFB ) to come to your home with necessary forms. Everyone has targets. They shall instantly visit your home and do the needful an offline process. By this way you shall get your desired bank account.
Lots of banks. For starters: sbm niyo global, RBL, Unity bank (via wint wealth). You need to spend some time to find out rest.
Some don't: NSDL, JIO, IDFC, Bandhan.
If you have the aadhar linked number but want to open on different number, then you can first open via aadhar linked no. and then change it.
I also have HDFC 10K SB account with a Non-Aadhaar Number. Just visited branch and account opened with a Cheque of 25K successfully.
Visiting a branch and opening an account is not my concern.
The process of visiting a branch often takes up a significant portion of the day or even multiple half-day leaves, which is highly inconvenient.
