AZ takes a dump.. on it's reputation

Hi,

I ordered an item on AZ Prime day sale and it was supposed to deliver today. When checking the order status recently I learn it is already returning to seller as the delivery has apparently been rejected by me! (I am totally unaware of this). The seller is 'DAWNTECH ELECTRONICS PRIVATE LIMITED'.

Upon reaching out to AZ they say- "We get your concern regarding the order cancellation. Unfortunately, we'd not have an option to reinstate an order once it's marked as returning or cancelled. Further, we'll ensure that instances as such are minimized going forward."

So a great deal slipped out of my hands just like that, after making payments and waiting two days. Is this a common stunt AZ is pulling? Has anyone else experienced this? I have a hunch my no show was deliberate - this was one of the ways they chose to not fulfil it. Why do I think so- simply because the said item was to travel x kms from their stockyard, instead it was rejected not in the destination pin code but a random location 6x kms away from origin (stockyard).I did not receive any calls for delivery from any delivery person either.


For now I have decided to get a refund (automatic process) and call it quits. But what gives? AZ is behaving worse than the corner kirana shop!


Will not post exact details in interest of privacy, but the above captures the gist in toto.

UPDATE: Advice on this forum is always top-notch! I re-connected with them over phone and they will try re-delivering. Another option if this order is cancelled is to call them and get an email on registered ID saying please place a fresh order and we will refund the difference to you in AZ Pay balance after the return period of the delivered order is exhausted. Only once that email is received, I can go ahead and place a fresh order to be refunded the difference in AZ pay from this deal. Not only AZ but others like Flopkart, JioMart, Tata Cliq etc. are doing the same stunt too. The create their own rules and regulations and modify them at their own will. The process of filing a legal consumer case against such tactics by these companies and follow-up on that is not a straightforward journey in our country. Hence, 99% of the consumers call it quits.

This is the fault of the delivery partner in your area. Nowadays delivery partners are getting smarter. They will try to call you if the call goes unanswered they will mark your order as returned. This happened in front of me when I offered a glass of water to deliver personnel he tried calling other customers, if call was unanswered he marked it as returned/undelivered.

Happened to me once. I beat the shit out of Amazon so much so that they had to deliver the product to me!! I worked through the ranks of their customer service till I get to a person authorized to change the order status from 'returned' to 'delivering by tomorrow'. I did not let them call me back or leave the call until I got what I wanted.

Also with Paytm, I ensured that I get a discount coupon so that I could buy the product at the deal price I originally ordered.

Yes, one of my friend experienced the same thing. The delivery person didn't even attempt delivery and friend received a message stating that it was returned because he had rejected it. imp   Amazon denied him when he asked for a delivery re-attempt while the warehouse was just 2 kms away. 🤦 Amazon is a fraud and they do it purposely so that you get disqualified for a cashback offer.

Same thing happened with me yesterday . Package shipped and then order returned. Now they said I rejected the delivery. It's not even out for delivery

I think this is delivery partners looting eCommerce companies. They might be getting paid even for undelivered package (and will earn more for next reattempt). If package is not delivered than it's just a loss for ecommerce companies coz they have to refund all the money to customer and still have to pay for shipping back and forth.

Thanks for the info. Have reached out to them. They will try and re-attempt delivery at the same price or I pay full price now and they will refund the difference in AZ pay after the return period of the delivered item is over.

Once one of my tv order was cancelled by amazon. I called them and they told me to place the order of same item again. They will refund the price difference of Rs 3000 in amazon pay once the return period is over for that item. Make sure to call them (not chat) and tell them to send an email confirmation that they will refund the price difference.

That is a good middle of the road approach, not ideal, but the best i guess at the moment. I will think it over and go ahead if it makes sense.

It's common nowadays, delivery guys are shit. Identify and caught them if it's same delivery person everytime and beat the shit out of him.

@nitjas the same incident happened with me on multiple orders but it was due to one specific delivery partner and it is one of the worst unethical and unprofessional delivery service that is DEHLIVERY other than this delivery partner I received all orders may be late but I received. But this delivery partner assigned >50 percent orders at least were cancelled without my knowledge.

Amazon CC has agreed to give me the difference amount of new orders which were cancelled because of DELHIVERY w.r.t previous order amounts.
