Axshit bank upgraded my basic savings account without permission or any notice.

I also checked my other family members account and they are also upgraded to different variant savings account from Liberty to some other.
The problem is none of us were informed about it and the mab for both the account is 2 lakh and 75k respectively what should I do ?

Agreed, other than credit card don't keep any relationship with Axis if possible
Strange. They generally send an email/sms notifying the customer about the upgrade eligibility & gives the option to opt out. New trick to force customers to maintain higher mab by upgrading without consent. Threaten with account closure
I think I will visit branch once although they are most incompetent people's but I will have to go.
They sent an email and sms couple of months back asking to opt out if we don't agree to upgrade
I already opted out but they still did it .
The main question still remains how can they upgrade it without my explicit consent.
You first need to report it to the bank and if they fail to provide a valid response, only then you can take it up with RBI. I would suggest to drop them an email, so you'll have a complete record of the conversation if you need to escalate it further to RBI.
RBI ombudsman needs 30 days escalation time before approaching them

In general, they will upgrade if you are maintaining sufficient balances that suits the upgraded account. If money enough for basic savings account is maintained, they should downgrade right?
Icici does it, elevate to wealth and then demote
The problem is that they should tell the customers in some way if they want to avail this kind of service or not.
Recently i faced same issue with Axis savings Ac mab was 2.5k recently upgraded to equal prestige with Sampann Savings with 75k MAB i found in bank statement Ac category changed to BBSPN from Easy Access Savings i approach axis cc directly they mention it was upgraded by your base home branch on 15 AUG2024 but no notifications sms email i received i noticed this on last 14 sep after some user reported.
I tweet to axis on same day now i received call on last Friday stating sir why you complaint to axis today only we received internal complaints kindly close complaint same we will downgrade or in app section they promised to be mentioning in app option there of downgrade kindly do yourself .
Same after checking i found only upgrade option available in app nothing else i requested to branch why it happens without consent you did yourself now asking to visit 2k km branch away to visit this downgrade procedure need physical visit else it won't go after multiple follow ups finally i convinced for visit nearby any axis branch even i visited submitted kyc photo copy showed original to them along NEW KYC form CDR somethings for ac category changed from BBSPN code to Easy Savings .
After follow-up with my nearby branch, they mentioned we can't change this ac category ac closure requires i informed to My home branch BM they conveyed sent scanned copy mail to my home branch with submitted docs they will approve request in mail for downgrade but still 3 days completed no luck.
I withdrawal all Savings ac balance including FDS don't how much MAB penalty will charges for 75k MAB & 3L NRV value. A/c was in Rural Branch 2.5k MAB almost 2 years old a/c.
1) complaint to bank in email and create email proof , with multiple escalations within axis bank internal team and in next 30 days
2) raise this complaint with escalation to RBI ombudsman (with all escalation proofs of axis)
3) that will solve this with compensation i think
close stupid bank account. axis bank is fraud
