I wanted to share my recent experience with Axis Bank's credit card
application process. It has been a rollercoaster, to say the least, and I
hope this post helps anyone who might be considering applying for a
credit card through Axis Bank.
Day 1: Application and VKYC Issues A few days ago, I applied for a credit card from Axis Bank using their website in the morning. The VKYC (Video KYC) process didn’t go smoothly initially; I couldn't hear the VKYC agent properly the first time, so I had to redo the process. The second attempt was successful. However, that day I received about five calls from Axis Bank asking about the VKYC status, to which I repeatedly explained that it had been completed successfully on the second try.
Later that evening, I received another call from Axis Bank, this time via WhatsApp. They informed me that a physical verification would be necessary due to issues with the VKYC. I agreed and scheduled a home visit since I was at the office.
Day 2: Physical KYC at Office Unfortunately, the representative missed the scheduled home visit. I rescheduled for the next morning at my office. During the call, they asked me to confirm my address, which I did despite some hesitation. I also communicated this confirmation through WhatsApp messages.
The next morning, the visiting representative called and met me at my office for the physical KYC. He informed me that my application was stuck due to KYC issues and that a new application would need to be created, which he would link to the old one. He even quoted my old application number and provided me with a new one.
However, I noticed a CIBIL hit for both applications, which was concerning.
Day 4: Application Confusion I received a message from Axis Bank stating, "We regret to inform you that we are unable to process your Axis Bank Credit Card application as we have received a duplicate request." Confused about which application they were referring to, I tracked both application IDs on the Axis website. Surprisingly, it was the second application that was closed.
I tried contacting the representative who handled my case, but he didn’t pick up my calls. He eventually sent a message saying he would "call me later," which never happened.
In an attempt to resolve the issue, I searched for the Axis Bank customer care email but couldn't find it. I did, however, find the email of the nodal officer. I sent a detailed email to the nodal officer, explaining everything that had happened and attaching WhatsApp screenshots and the contact numbers of everyone who had reached out to me.
Day 6: Final Outcome A few days later, I received a message from Axis Bank stating that my application had been rejected. The application number quoted was from my first application. By then, I was fed up and decided to give up on the bank.
Surprise Approval Yesterday morning, I received a message from Axis Bank stating that my application was approved. Tracking both application numbers revealed that the second application, which had been closed, was reopened and approved. Today, I received my physical credit card.
Conclusion This has been the worst experience I've ever had while applying for a credit card. I hold credit cards from multiple banks, including HDFC, ICICI, and Federal, and their processes were smooth and streamlined compared to this.
Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps anyone going through a similar situation.
PS: Sorry for long post

axis is worst i have like 10+ rejections, all applied from there email saying u are selected for this cc or some bs.
Let me guess, you don't hold a bank acc with axis. Always have a bank acc in axis if planning on applying for axis cc in future. Same goes for hdfc & icici for smoother process/better chances of approval.
As for axis it was just an frustrating experience. I am glad that i got my card but they made sure that i wont ever pursue an account with them xD
My dad applied for Axis Kiwi and it was generated instantly after vKyc (no prior Axis relationship).
No income docs, physical address verification or bank statements but they provided shitty default limit - 15k
Now once you get hold of any Axis card like digital Kiwi card, you can apply for other pre-approved LTF cards from within Axis app with no CIBIL enquiries and verification.
Super smooth as u can apply pre approved cards from axisbank app, within 2-3 days u will get ur card.
Similar experience with Axis Myzone. It is worst
My experience (not good initially but later improved):
- Axis Flipkart: rejected (Had only SBI SimplyCLICK 1L, ICICI APay 40K CL then)
- Since I was a n00b, I applied for any random Axis CC 3 months later, Axis LIC. Declined
- 6 months later, Axis Freecharge also declined (by this time, I had 1 x SBI, 2 x ICICI, 2 x HDFC, OneCard, 2 x RBL, 1 x IDFC, 1 x BOB, 1 x PNB but still no.
- Finally on 4th attempt after 3 months, Axis My Zone LTF approved via CashKaro (only home address verification done!, no office address verification, no income proof - by this time had added Kotak, Yes to my arsenal)
- 6 months later, Axis Neo Visa LTF declined
- 2 months later, Axis Kiwi LTF pre-approved without credit enquiry
- 3 months later, Axis Neo RuPay LTF declined
- 2 months later, Axis Ace pre-approved without credit enquiry (others paid were Flipkart, Neo, My Zone RuPay, Rewards, Aura, Indian Oil, Privilege, Select, Atlas, Samsung Signature and Samsung Infinite)
- 3 months later, Axis Neo RuPay LTF finally pre-approved (after closing My Zone)
So holding Kiwi, Ace and Neo RuPay. My Zone closed. Hope to make Ace LTF or get Flipkart LTF some day :(
