Axis Bank charges

Hey guys, need suggestion from banking experts. I was charged 2065rs(1750+gst) by axis Bank for my father depositing 2Lakhs in my account and is considered 3rd party cash transfer. This happened in the home branch itself. Cashier or any bank employee never mentioned to my father that there would be charges incurred for this. Literally it's 1% for just depositing money which is considered a basic banking service. Is this morally correct? Anyone faced this issue and argued with bank and got the charges back? I am holding axis Bank for 10 years now and I am a priority salary account holder. They are not even providing this basic banking service. Should I still continue with this bank or suggest me a better and transperant bank. Thanks in advance!

Bro, these charges are at every private bank but are in your RM/Manager's hands.

He can easily reverse the charges, just visit the branch and ask him gently. Also, I think if you're holding a priority account they should be listening to you.

The same case happened to me, I didn't know about the charges and deposited 4L cash, and HDFC deducted some charges. I called my RM and asked him to reverse it, he happily did it by taking an application from me.

Try to request Axis RM/manager and see their response. If they deny it, you can't do much because this is present in the schedule of charges, so my suggestion is to request them gently, if they deny it, mention to them softly that if I experience this kind of service from Axis, I will switch my account to a different bank and see their response.

Do not argue/fight with them, keep your pitch in requesting way, I think they will reverse it.

In the deposit slip, Was it mentioned deposit by self ? If yes then fight with bank . If no then your mistake, in the slip mention deposit by self. Or add your father's name in the account

There is a threshold limit in each bank for cash deposit, beyond that limit there are charges to deposit the cash, it's called "cash handling charges".

The trick here is to not fight but request politely. RM has a lot of power over the account.

Only one lakh cash deposit is free per month. You deposited more than free limit. So this charge debited to you.

At least now you know Cash transactions always attract charges. Govt don't want people to use cash that's why you have limit and charges on withdrawal too

Use co operative bank Or psu bank Or small finance bank if you want to deposit large cash amount. Co operative banks are best for large cash deposits and withdrawals.
