The law in some western countries is more clear on this topic. If you kill an animal with purpose to eat it this it is fine. The sub-text is you may have to prove you intended to eat it by doing x,y,z etc.
If you kill for fun then you could land in trouble.

I am a vegetarian, because my body isn’t a GRAVEYARD

There is not enough vegetarian food supplies for all people on earth, so even if somehow everyone skipped meat there won’t be enough food for the vegans.
Even I don’t like animal slaughtering but it can be justified by following an Anthropocentric approach.
I recommend people to consume more of marine food.
P.S. – I am a pure vegan
