So long story short, if possible please carry an RFID blocker wallet for carrying cards and keep international transactions disabled and if possible keep tap and pay also disabled.
- Sort By
1] International Transaction - off
2] Tap & Pay - off
3] No NFC or Other Fancy methods enabled in Phone - off

Even then if someone get's scammed, it's his fault or we will see a new post for new scam method.

VU+ for the nice awareness
let many read this
Turning off NFC in phone or card's contactless txn won't help much I think in such cases, as if you read carefully, those scammer boys at shop didn't do any txn as such. Instead, the machine in their pocket only read the card details, and then the txn was done probably online outside India. So even if you turn off contactless txns of your card, your card will still always keep emitting card details, and txn will be blocked by bank only at the time of txn when a contactless txn is done.
In such cases, you need to do 2 things:
1. Block international txns
2. Get a RFID blocking wallet
If RFID blocking wallet isn't cutting for you for any reason, like you're just not getting a good looking rfid blocking wallet of your choice or any other reason, you can also buy a pair of RFID blocking cards. They're as thin as any credit cards and can be kept in wallet, without making the wallet overall a lot fatter.. Best to keep these cards in the outermost currency pocket (as in image below), so that when your wallet is in your pocket with any side facing outside, these cards will just block any such unwanted contacts. BUT DON'T FORGET TO TEST EFFECTIVENESS OF THESE CARDS BY FIRST TRYING YOURSELF MANUALLY AT ANY POS MACHINE.

Thanks for the thread, vu+. And thank you @atx88 @UnderNation
as soon as i get credit card i disable
1. all international txn
2. tap and pay (as i often travel to crowded place who know somecarry something electronic)
3. ATM withdrawl (if osmeone found my card and pin from the CCTV at shop the first thing hee will do is to rush to a atm and withdraw 'cash is teh king')
4.to more 420 bank like RBL i even block domestic txn too
2. No need to add anything after my other post.
3. This is also disabled by default I think (at least it was on my new card I got recently) & even then it is just common sense to disable it because even genuine usage of this feature is not recommended.
4. Don't take cards from 420 like banks.
@guest_999 this is why rfid wallet are a good choice
Making mountain out of molehill is best way to describe it. A chip card (which all cards nowadays are because of rbi rules) can only be cloned via swiping which uses only magnetic stripe for compatibility purposes as most countries in the world still use those only & if someone has already cloned your card's magnetic stripe then you have much bigger things to worry about than tap & pay. As for my post about Tap & pay merchants not being scammer within India that still holds true & as you know it is easiest to get reversal for fraud international txns because all it takes is a prompt complaint & a passport proof (or no passport issued as proof) that you were within India at the time of reported txn. On the other hand I have seen ppl being refused their fraud complaints on domestic txns done on amazon/fk with otp because courier/warehouse person swapped their iphone with cheap old mobile.
