I have tried Generic Medicine from leeford and ipca both are equally effective like original.
There is no direct answer of yes or no. It depends on the brand. Depending on the medicine, most of them are trustworthy. Sometimes the coating of the medicine is not good, causing pre-mature release of the medicine and less effectiveness.
I'm a regular user of various generic medicines and found almost 95% medicines are as per branded counterparts. I don't know any specific Truemeds related issues as I've never used it.
I have ordered a medicine that i use regularly from truemeds, it was underdosed
Despite mentioning the proper dosage on the label ?
Recently got pm jan aushadhi kendra opened near my home, bought medicines from it and got well in 3 days, so first experience has been nice. Especially considering the fact that it costed around 80-90% cheaper as compared to branded meds of same salt
I used to order from sayacare app (janausadhi) seems good to me with cheap price.
regular problems - sar dard , bukhaar , sardi - khasi , cough syrup etc - generic is the way to go .
serious issues like - heart , bp , sugar , kidney problems etc .. life threatning stuffs - always prefer branded ethical medicines .
do not compromise when it comes to medicines & food .
rest all cheap stuffs can do .
Just imagine having iphone and looking for generic substitues ... LOL
sometimes, very cheap ones tend to have low quantity of api and more of filler, buy mid range, mid-reputation company drugs... Medplus membership ones (akums, wynclark) works nice for mid range prices...
my point life is only one why take life risk by taking generic where in india drug control is a joke. I have seen people dying in 40s due to high bp and sugar inspite of taking generic medicine.
my monthly family spend is 50k+ monthly on medicine
Thank you for putting this message together 🏼
Yes, it's safe. White collar mafia aka corrupt doctors, having an unholy nexus with Big Pharma Sharks prescribe medicines in order to increase their commission. For example, even though Intas/Torrent/Alkem are well-known brand, doctors getting commissions from Pfizer / Sun Pharma will always recommend Pfizer / Sun Pharma in order to increase their commission.
So don't get fooled & purchase generic medicines, or at least, compare the prices of various brands before making a purchase. Typically, a list of acceptable alternatives is given to you by Tata 1MG, Pharmeasy, and Truemeds. They have the same qualities as the prescription medications and are approved by the FDA.
Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra is doing a great job by helping those who can't afford expensive medications by offering them at a reasonable price. You can always decide not to take substitutes for critical medicines. I have been buying generic medications and alternatives from Janaushadhi Kendra and online pharma after comparing several brands & I have never experienced any issue.
Here is a small example of Big Pharma Nexus's loot & this is just the tip of the iceberg. Jago Grahak Jago! Wake up Customer Wake up!
For normal OTC medicine: generic
For serious diseases like BP, Diabetes and so on: Branded medicine.
It's your health and your life. What will you do by saving money on generic medicine when you are not alive cause of heart attack stroke etc?
My dad is a doctor and he always recommends patients with generic ones. Saves money and equally effective
Hame diabetes detect hua hai.. sala ab budhapa aa gaya jawani me.. itni costly medicine..
If you can afford it always buy original manufacturer drugs. If you can't, stick to well known big generic companies like Sun, Cipla, Dr. Reddy, Micro labs etc.
Avoid smaller/medium generic companies like Systopic.
If you are in a tier 3,4 most doctors are blood sucking so they prescribe/sell 3rd class companies brands. Avoid them at any cost.
Any reviews on metacine pharma? at generic shop they are giving bp tablets for 25, mrp is 90rs and diabetes tablets for 50rs, mrp is 175 or 190
I have done small research and shared my opinion in another thread, if someone is interested visit link
No. It is not safe .. earlier my father was using a different medicine after test.. but when ordered online he became more serious as the suggested generic medicine by the pharmacist through call was not exactly same which was prescribed in test. that alternative medicine hampered his health and he became serious
