NOTE 1: DO NOT BUY.
NOTE 2: Read NOTE 1 Again.
I'm using an ASUS Vivobook S15 with 8GB RAM and 1 tb hdd from 2018. If you've watched Mumbiker Nikhil, you might remember when he promoted this laptop, and I was totally influenced by it. I bought it and haven’t regretted it a bit, which is why I'm still using it. I added an SSD and installed Windows on it for faster boot times and smoother performance. In 2020 or 2021, the hinge broke, and the screen was damaged, but ASUS completely replaced it for free. Last year, I had to replace the display again due to another issue, but overall, I've had a really good experience with this laptop.
I am also confused between Acer and Asus.
I would recommend you to go with Asus, Lenovo, Dell or maybe even HP (in the same order) but never Acer.
Using 2023 model for 9 months without any issue
My first laptop was ASUS K55VM in 2012 and then replaced it with Vivobook S14 S431FA in 2018 and I've never regret my decision. It is the best value for money laptop out there, along with good quality and service center experience. In the last 3-4 years or so, I've literally bought nearly 8 laptops for friends and family and all were ASUS. Dell is much better in terms of build quality and service experience, but they're expensive.
I've bought ASUS Vivobook, Vivobook S, Vivobook S14 Flip and Vivobook Go series laptops and I've only one suggestion - don't ever in your wildest dream buy the Vivobook Go Series. Sure the specs are a little better and a few modern features and design touches as well, but the build quality is super poor. Another thing is that they have the shittiest display that you can imagine with viewing angle sooo bad that I was continuously adjusting in while using it for two days. You will see the display getting black/ dull even if you shift by a single degree and forget being able to watch it from the sides. I've bought both 14-inch and 15-inch from this series and the feedback remains the same.
How to know if it's go series one or not.
I am thinking of this. Gonna buy 8gb one at 5,000 less price and gonna add one 8gb stick which will cost just 2000
I am using the latest vivobook s15 OLED 15". Idk why it feels like shit.
My old laptop of lenovo 15" IPS display gave better feeling than this. Fingerprint sensor is so bad in this way. Display obv is better but HDR is useless if the tech is gonna flicker.
laptop outcase is almost plastic, my old lenovo was all aluminium.
I am never gonna go for asus but i have no other choice currently as lenovo themselves are making shit laptops.
What is your usecase?
it has got heating issues if you are looking for extreme performance or gaming.
I just open 4-5 tabs of browser and background music and lectures nothing else. No heavy gaming
My brother bought the amd variant in 2019 and it still works perfectly fine without any issues. I don't know about the recent series as haven't tried it yet.
Am using vivobook K15 oled since dec2021. Good build quality and specs, only drawbacknis battery drain due to use type and oled display. Got 1+2years extended warranty.
You ll get polarized reviews only bhai.
I had bought Asus Vivobook gaming f571gt a while ago.. it went dead within 2 years. The sad part is it cannot be repaired. Service centre quoted 30k for its motherboard replacement if they can find one. Never going to buy an asus laptop ever again.
My Brother Has Been Using The Asus Vivo Book For 3 Years , He Took An Asus Extended Warranty Also.. In 3rd Year Charger Got Failure... Raised Complaint, Technician Visited Home Next Day , Replaced With New Adapter. Still Now Laptop Is Working Good And Pretty Fast Because Of Nvme Ssd
Mine is working like a Charm/Beast! ASUS S15 OLED K3502/ i5-12th Gen H Series with 70wHr Battery/ OLED Display/ 16GB RAM/ 512GB SSD and bought at 57,590Rs in an Amazon Diwali Sale 2023.
"Also, more importantly, it's an Evo certified laptop. Evo certification has many benefits."
- It's consistently responsive when not plugged in
- It can reach 9 hours of battery life or more with an FHD (1080p) display
- It can wake back up from sleep mode in less than a second
- You can get at least 4 hours of battery life out of a 30-minute charge
- It can charge over USB-C
- It supports Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6E
- It supports dynamic background noise suppression
- It has an FHD camera
I do open tabs nearly 30-35 at a time + many apps at background still it loads smoothly you just have to do proper settings to get the best output!
also extended warranty of 3 years (accidental also covered at 3k)
Total Laptop cost 60k.
ASUS Vivobook S15 OLED (2022) 15.6" (39.62 cms) FHD OLED, Intel Core Evo i5-12500H 12th Gen, Thin and Light Laptop (16GB/512GB SSD/Iris Xe Graphics/Windows 11/Office 2021/Green/1.8 kg) K3502ZA-L503WS https://amzn.in/d/e...Qo
I am using vivobook s15(256ssd+1tb hdd) from 6 years and still working fine hdd fails last month and sata ssd is still working with 86% health.. battery backup in performance mode is almost 2 hours…yes its fell slow now because its 8th gen i5 with mx150 gpu… 2nd problem is failure of hdd after 5 years and 1st problem is one single pixel dead within 2 year😅
Go so asus or any other laptop which provides 3 year warranty and just before expiration of warranty… take a replacement of hdd because hdd life is average 5-6 year
I recommend to go with ssd laptop but check about speed and life of nvme ssd of laptop
asus not good if you want to witch in short time then its ok but if you think long-lasting never buy this
I need to buy a basic laptop, mainly for browsing, online classes and ms office.
Features reqd: backlit keyboard, camera physical shutter
Budget: 35k
Pls suggest some options. Also suggest if i3 with 13th gen or i5 with 12 gen will be good for this need? If yes, which of both processor is better?

-----------
Dell and Lenevo do not have backlit on lower range models. HP was 5-8k expensive than Asus.
Though my preference would be to go with brand like Dell, HP or Lenevo.
Please suggest.
Thanks in advance
Yes but few dell laptops have hinge issue. Otherwise dell is best.
Samsung Galaxybook 4 long term review anyone?
