Toshiba has always been synonymous with quality.
Used to have a Videocon back when they had a collaboration with Toshiba and it was fantastic.

Televisions sold under brand names like Hisense, Toshiba, Kelon, Ronshen, Sharp, Gorenje, Hitachi and Asko are all made (and often marketed) by Haixin Youxian Gongsi (Hisense group) itself.
Features wise Toshiba too are okay.
But nothing like the earlier focus on product quality-control.
In U.S. they still try to sell more TVs under their own Hisense brand, but yes, after purchasing the rights of Toshiba name.. they are able to better utilise the patented technologies across brands.
Most of the Toshiba branded TVs are okay.
But given a choice, if i had to buy items from the same manufacturer.. I might prefer 'Sharp', over Toshiba.
But that is just me and I am not trying to push my views or create influence.

Did not know that Hisense had acquired Toshiba back in 2017
But it seems a Japanese group has planned a buyout to 'bring it back' to Japan

I got one ten days ago. So far so good and I like their customer service!
