I also have received cheque in the name of Refunds which was successfully delivered at home, Yes their Policies have changed and many are receiving cheques in the name of Refund

So the story goes like this , i order rage coffee from Amazon during prime days sale which I received yesterday, When I opened the package it was all wet and coffee was spilled from it .
I instantly call the costomer service for refund, they said to open the package and share image, so I opened it and share the pic.
After checking the image they said that you don't need to return the package and the refund is initiated and will be credited within 48 hours.
- I was kind of happy as 1 bottle was safe out of 2 , i throwed the broken bottle and its coffee as glass was in the coffee.
- after 48 hours i contacted the costomer service for asking about refund, and the reply kind of shocked me, they said that seller has initiated a cheque of 149rs that will be delivered to your address (in next 10 days)
Firstly ,what kind of policy is this : do have to cash a check of 149 rs by going to bank, the petrol would cost more
Secondly, when I told them that i will not be at my location after 4 days so I can't receive the cheque
The only thing the costomer service lady was saying "I am sorry sir , i know you are disappointed but it's the policy" , i normaly talk politely with Costumer support but it was so irritating as she repeated the same thing again and again atleast 10-15 time .
I disconnected the call thinking " tel lene gya 150rs , dimag kharab kar diya ******* "
So my point is , even if the costomer receive damage product either they have to face the money loss or have go to bank for their money...
Normally the return process of Amazon is smooth but this time it was disaster...

For cod orders ,if you return the product then neft option or amazon pay bal option is there.
But since this is a non returnable product. They have to raise a credit note with no attached payment method. So cheque is the only option.
If this was placed with online payment then refund would have come back to source.
Now. If you want the refund in apay, thts possible by raising at higher levels but it would take atleast 10-15 more conversations and would cause the account to be flagged. Not worth for 150.

Also amazon has stopped refunding delivery charges when order is returned. Faced it first time last week. Its reasonable of them though.
It's not even about the money, but how does anyone know they have changed mode of payment without informing, policy this policy that, does all costomers read every single line tof tnc
For cod orders, refund is generally made with cheques. For other mode of payments, refund is generally done to the account number linked to the payment method (UPI, debit/credit card) & for Apay GC, sv, balance, the refund is done to respective mode of payment at the time of ordering. This is done to maintain fairness and a big reason why Amazon stopped split payment methods (paying for an order partially from apay balance & the rest by UPI/debit/credit cards) as they were finding it a rigorous process to refund the exact amount to the different payment methods used.

Think like this subscription is easy but unsubscribe is impossible you have to go through email calls and all. This is trap to extract money.

WAKE UP & AVOID AMAZON AT ALL COSTS.
1. Opt for POD as chargeback with CC will be there after opening the package. (do not used COD/upi)
2. No escalation as executive team doesnt even reply these days so customer is phocked (telephone & chat agents are are all bool sheet) (Amzn US & UK executive team apololigise and offer gift cards but in India customers are treated like sheet)
3. Amazon's Delivery agents these days are deliberatetly stomping packagings (especially with plastic packages instead of cardboard ), falsely marking as refused by customer instead of contacting.

U can cancel the cheque after 10 BD, then after 14 BD, u can get refund in Bank or Apay balance by contacting CS
You need image of cheque for cancellation, and i will not be at my location to receive cheque
why use cod on amazon. cod is the issue here. i never use cod , always use credit card so in case of fraud you can raise chargeback .Amazon is the safest online website. Even if an item has issue you will get refund/replacement.
another darty tricks of cruked delivery agents
1. Make multiple false returns of COD orders so that amazon disables COD option for customer
The reason being: for prepaid orders delivery agents will deliver parcel to customer at 10am but actually input delivered into amazon's delivery partner app at 4pm.
That way they overcharge amazon for extra hours wage which eventually will come out of customer's pocket.
the other issue is, their system is rigged to only change tracking entries of only their own frauds, mistakes.
if THEY put a fake scan that 'order refused and returning to seller'
then they can again put it out for delivery
even AFTER the returning to seller entry and even mischievously delete that fake entry too
but when we report the fake entry of 'order marked as rejected by you' for a COD order
then even after the highest point of escalation too accepting the fault
for weeks and months the system does not enable COD option again.

Govt should intervene & implement 100% only customer approved OTP based delivery & return for all online orders
- 1 day wait when delivery agent initiates return. then system auto generates a return OTP. In genuine case customer shares the OTP or delivery agent returns parcel after 1 day wait. That way customer will get SMS notification & within 24hrs can escalate & report false return
