Amazon Open Box Delivery
Recently I ordered a refriedgatror for my friend who lives in my neighbourhood which cost approx 30K after all the discount and card offers.
One-line story - Amazon has recently started open-box delivery similar to what Flipkart has been doing.
Eloabratored stories - Yesterday morning it showed out for delivery and within a few minutes I got a call (as it was booked from my account) from the Delivery guy regarding confirmation if I am available at my address. And after about 30 mins the delivery guy reached the given address and asked where to keep the box. My friend told me to take it on the first floor. They agreed and took it without much of questions. After reached the first floor, they first opened the box and asked us to check and let us know if everything was excellent as per the product ordered. We both checked every corner carefully for dents and scratches. Also checked the inside boxes and features. Once we were done with the inspection, they asked for OTP and the order was marked delivered.
The delivery guy also informed us that open-box Delivery has been recently introduced for large products and it will expand to other categories too.
Later that evening got a call from an LG service man to install the fridge. He came after 1 hour and everything was done within like 15 mins.
So, yes from ordering to delivery of the product. And installation was all smooth. And the product is working as of now.

Good to know of your satisfactory experience.
It is not a recent development though for the large appliances team. (That team also handles furniture orders.)
And for non large appliances.. if I remember correctly.. my first experience with the DA helping me was back in 2017 or 2016.
Told him that two thousand rupees/ order amount you take, but at-least let me try the shoes once.
Despite size 10 UK.. it was small and he too said.. you would not get 11 that easily.
Let me take it back, we will pack it again and say that packing was damages in transit or something.
I said, that is so nice of you but it should not come on you, better mark it as item refused by customer.
He said, then too.. we will have to repack the box with tape and record it as such.
Since forever, in our homes or at-least with me.. there is a habit of asking any postman or other person coming to the doorstep.. if they will have water.
And often we shove s container full of alpenliebe, eclairs or some ginger lemon confectionery towards the laundy person or others who are on the door.
That Puma shoes order was delivered/ brought by someone who had brought other orders too in the past and we do not even notice to whom we are offering water.
If it is too hot and the other person is not in a hurry.. I usually INSIST that they sit and sip water slowly.. so yeah.. that too.. was noticed by him.
