Airtel Xstream Fiber Router - Very Poor Coverage

I've recently opted for Airtel Xstream Fiber 100 Mbps plan for 3 months. The router provided along with it has very poor coverage for a small 2 BHK flat. I agree that there are a few walls involved but still the penetration level is very poor considering I've far far better experience with TP-Link Archer A6 router at hometown.
My query is, is it the case with others as well? If yes, what did you do to tackle this issue?
Also, I've recharged for 3 months only to get the router for FREE but I will be recharging if and when required as I won't be staying continuously at this flat. Since the plan is POSTPAID and if I ask them to pause the plan, how long can this be done? I don't want to pay until I ask them to resume billing as per my availability.

If you disconnect they will try to retain you. If you finally did disconnect then they will send a person to collect the broadband.
If you take the safe custody feature i e. To keep the modem for some time without internet they will charge you 100/month. You can pause for free for a vacation but there are certain limits and eventually safe custody charges will apply.
To solve the range issue make sure to update the firmware using Airtel thanks app.
236/month including taxes for safe custody.
If you have an old router, it can be used as a wifi extender.
Mine is prepaid airtel. I recharge after months, half a year & they just call asking me to recharge but I ignore.
When I recharge, it works normally. No charges yet.
my connection is in Pune and I didn't even see the option of Prepaid and Postpaid
I know JioFiber has the option of applying for either Prepaid/Postpaid fiber connection but I didn't see one in case of Airtel Xstream Fiber
had similar experince with airtel fibre ,signal was very weak for the room adjacent to my room,
it was defiantely the problem with router, had made several call and then only i was able to replace the router when i thretaen to disconnect the connection
Login to router account, try to reset the router also enable 5Ghz band support and tweak the settings to your liking, if you see speed is not 1-2mbps above the suggested speed as per plan, raise a request to fix the connection.
check following.
- The band you are using on your device.
- use wifi analyzer app and check if you have other SSID signals overlapping your SSID. try and change the channel from router to something where you dont have interference.
- try and move the router closer to the door in the room you have kept.
I have airtel router and have disabled the wifi on it. use a ASUS router and i get signal across the 3BHK.
I am using the original router(Nokia) which was supplied with installation.
2.4 Ghz has more coverage and works upstairs as well. The 5 Ghz works best when router and device both are close enough preferably in same room.
Get a prepaid connection if possible. In my case, I have asked them to give me a prepaid one when I applied for the connection. Also what router have they provided you, Nokia, DZS or some other?
DZS has best coverage. My friend has it.
Ask customer care to convert to prepaid and raise ticket for the issue you are facing.
This is the very first thing I did after installation. Separate name for 5 Ghz separates both bands and wifi works flawlessly.
the range depends on microwave raditn too , elecricl applinces and nearby wifi signals.... which is not same with differnt location.
