You can send sms from main balance. Is not it?
Or main balance is only for calls?

They have clearly mentioned this!

With that particular plan active… no SMS can be sent. Maybe it applies to service SMS (viz. Balance check, DND (de)/activation, etc.) also.

Nice step by Vodafone & Airtel. Some fraudsters, spam SMS senders will have to pay more now 😁
Bulk SMS waalon ka bhi plan aur mehenga hona chahiye 👍👍

In case of Vi for 48 pack they haven’t explicitly mentioned that OG SMS isn’t allowed. I am not sure about the standalone validity even.

It is ‘happy birth day’ time🥳🎊, unless I am wrong.

Some bloke seemingly spoke to VI CSD, after reading your dilemma.
And they seem to have got the clarity, that for complete services
Now VI pay-as-you-go/ pre-paid subscribers need to spend minimum ₹128 (but practical pack is of 129INR) to be able to use the standard GSM services for 28days.

This brings back memories of how, in 2004 or so, on the operator Orange (later Hutch), I was infuriated enough to ask the operator to STOP the Caller Line Identification service on my billing connection….
after they unashamedly unbundled those services, making them chargeable.

Being the toothless “paper tigers” that alleged monitoring agencies like SEBI IRDA TRAI are, it might be too much to expect this;
But ideally, those buffoons ought to making it legally invalid to deny complete GSM services to any subscriber with validity and main balance.

Seems despite the bloke selecting a largely understood, non-regional language (English).. the call is still in Hindi.

The clarity of “no outgoing SMS” can be heard at around the timestamp 03:21 and onwards.

This message is kind of kickstart for me to move my secondary sim cards to bsnl. I may randomly need to send sms for UPI configuration. It’s other way of saying enough of feeding us, now time to feed BSNL

@worldspy

A piece of advice:

Don’t make fool of yourself by replying to someone who’s made it clear of not replying to you. By doing so, you’re only asking the other person to get personal with you and then feel bad about the whole thing.

SO, JUST STOP REPLYING TO HIM! ..and see the magic. grinning

PS: Removing useless comments.

I’m talking about my first comment which got removed. It was my opinion on the this issue and how Jio was a catalyst in bringing 4G to India.

Comrade Comrade
Link Copied

actually the issue is…..jio, vodafone and airtel….all are giving two months of free recharge..on mnp….people use two month recharge….then 49 rs pack…and after that again port to another operator…i myself is using same technique from last 6 months…i havent recharged any of my numbers….using the above technique…….so now you have to do atleast a month of recharge…but still its economical…

Can we send SMS from BSNL sim using main balance, even without any active pack?

Pro Analyst Pro Analyst

No.. you should have activated some validity recharge. (Not even able to topup the inactive sim.. only validity recharge will work)

SMS is just like calls, a basic feature of a mobile network. A Telco can revise price of plans as they see fit, but this is structurally and ethically wrong to an immesurable extent.

Deal Cadet Deal Cadet
Link Copied

TRAI should implement a rule that sending port-out message need not require an active pack. Having sufficient main balance to pay the port SMS charge must be enough.

anyway to make port out request without sms ? A plan of 129 mandatory for raising this stupid request. Airtel and Vodafone has started robbing people now.

Benevolent Benevolent

BSNL will likely follow suit leaving no alternative. I am gonna just let a couple of my secondary nos. close on their own. Not giving another paisa to AVOID in particular Airtel.

Isn’t this like enethical move ? Trai should intervene and reverse this stupid rule or order whatever.

That’s unrealistic considering it’s past track record.

Rs.19 pack is unlimited pack with 2 days validity.
Good for port out sms. If anyone can test.

Some folks reported an active pack being necessary. Even if it’s working it won’t take for Airtel to block with Vi following suit soonafter. Bloodsucking AVOID.

Jio destroyed the poor life
How the f***k someone spends around 100rs if he/she calls or SMS rarely if we assume 10-20 calls in a month pensive rage

Benevolent Benevolent
Link Copied

At least Jio provides a worthwhile alternative in the form of Jiophone specific packs exclusively aimed at the financially weaker section. AVOID OTOH has made it clear that it doesn’t want such customers. Alternatively they can pay blood money just to keep their services alive.

Benevolent Benevolent

why TRAI is silent about this. User has every right to send sms with main balance.
