Adulteration, counterfeit protection measures?

With rampant illegal activities and shoddy adherence to safety standards even when manufacturing or packing edible items, medicines
one persistent fear or stress point is to not have one's near-dear ones or oneself fall victim to such things.

Thusly, I was wondering what all steps or precautions are others taking towards achieving similar goals.

It would help others and maybe we all can better protect the lives, health of those who matter to us, besides our own health

if we collectively exchange notes or learn from each other.

Thanks.

Milch cattle that are often no longer yielding enough milk, eventually find their way to ill-kept shelters or even be paled off to butchers, slaughter-houses.

For those businesses, especially the beef exporting businesses, it does not matter where the beef is coming from.

As in, they do not care if the animal is/was ill-kept or is in very poor health too.
And more often than not, they do not even care about the species, gender either.
Bulls, buffaloes, cows are all butchered for the meat.

Not just due the heavy adulteration in all dairy products and the counterfeit products, ingredients being sold

but also to nor encourage more livestock farmers from breeding cattle..
I have cut down on a lot of consumption of sweets which have dairy products
as also cutting down on dairy products themselves.

I am aware that I alone or even a handful of others may not make a big difference
but with rampant corruption, lack of adequate law enforcement and even proper laws.. and the hurdles in litigation..
.. for now.. on an individual level.. all i can do is to help reduce demand.

Maybe then, as a side-effect.. less animals will end up on the streets or be butchered to meer the export demand.

P.S.: I do not follow a vegan lifestyle, not propagating it in THIS post.
