Add RuPay Credit Card to BHIM UPI app (Step by Step Guide):
As you all are aware that yesterday NPCI has rolled out RuPay card support for UPI interface. I was eagerly waiting for the launch and kept on looking for ways to add my PNB RuPay Credit card on the UPI apps.
The availability of RuPay UPI support for BHIM app for now, other UPI apps will added soon.
Bhim App download link - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=i...
Here are steps.
Prerequisites: In order to use this feature there are two major prerequisites.
1. RuPay credit card from PNB, UBI or Indian Bank (Canara and HDFC Bank coming soon)
Once these two pre-requisites are in place, use the following steps to add your card in the BHIM UPI app.
Step1: Click on the bank name on the top navigation bar, this will take you to a secondary screen.
Step2: You will be taken to the following screen
Step 3: Select the Plus button to add your credit card. Search for your credit card provider, PNB, UBI and Indian bank available for now
Once a bank is selected, and if you have a credit card associated with that bank, you will start seeing a record for that credit card.
If you click on it, you will be taken to a new screen where you can add last six digit of your credit card for the verification purposes.
Once done, an OTP will be sent by the bank which you need to enter on the next screen. After successful verification, you will be able to set UPI pin for your credit card.
Experience while paying through the credit card on UPI: After successfully adding the credit card, I couldn't stop myself in terms of making my first ever transaction on UPI using credit card. Tried to pay to a merchant using the same and it failed.
Updated - Tried with Flipkart and payment went through without any issues.
Update 2 - Amazon credit card bill repayment also worked via RuPay Credit card linked UPI (Inshort, Credit card bill pay via Credit card).
Reason: The merchant also need to allow accepting the payments using credit cards on their UPI ID. So basically this is a two way process and merchant's role is also involved in it. You simply won't be able to pay via a RuPay credit card on UPI to any UPI Barcode a merchant has to enable the credit card support on their UPI id.
For bigger merchants the RuPay Credit Card support on UPI is another payment mode which they can offer to their customer as they anyways have the swipe machines on their counters and they don't mind paying MDRs.

Here is the new finding guys, tried paying with UPI enabled PNB RuPay Credit Card using BHIM UPI app with different vendors and here are the findings.
1. With small eatery having Paytm Barcode: Transaction went through and vendor received the payment instantly Paytm soundbox also announced the receipt of the payment.
2. Another eatery with PhonePe Barcode: Transaction failed with error "Transaction not permitted to UPI ID by the PSP" here the PSP means Payment Service Provider which is PhonePe in this case.
Hence it seems that currently Paytm has allowed payments using UPI enabled credit cards but not PhonePe. I stand corrected to my previous assumption that a vendor needs to allow the payment, it is actually the UPI service provider who need to enable this service from their end.

Does phone number have to be same for BHIM UPI and CC?
I think UPI directly linked with our banks "credit account" and bypass RuPay/Visa/Mastercard etc credit card network.
Hope! i m not wrong. Since MDR is available upto 2% then will get some offers from bank side too.
NPCI should discount MDR to promote for credit card upi. At least for next 2 years.
DD pe aam zindagi, Whatsapp pe Mentos Zindagi
Is it possible to send money via credit card upi to small merchants silently without informing them I need to buy one glass of ₹7 tea using credit card upi from street vendor
Wait few weeks or months, i think small merchants will get exemption.
Working with bob rupay cc also??
Wait few months.
@abhishek012 Not able to pay CC bill Amazon using PNB CC. It seems this feature is disabled.
or Do we need to enable UPI on credit cards?
Amazon use 2 different UPI ID, Which UPI ID you get when you send request from Amazon ?

Credit card upi works on vendors with savings account?
Another transaction on a fuel pump and managed to pay via Paytm Barcode through PNB CC+BHIM App combo. Payment went through, since this is a UPI transaction, I am assuming there will not be any fuel surcharges applicable on it.
How you are getting reward points? I mean to ask whether transactions are getting matched to e-com, utilities etc and rewards points are getting accordingly?
me too waiting for my HDFC select CC to get enabled
Is it working now? I'm still not able to add in bhim
no, hdfc is still not yet enabled by ncpi
Only HDFC RuPay Regalia credit card is working.
Also getting 4 rewards per 150 spend via UPI for Regalia rewards.
What about amount above ₹2000 if paying e.g. credit card bill? Any charges?
Will be awesome if this is enabled on SimplySAVE on RuPay platform, a relatively low-end easy to get card that rewards offline spends. Wherever we pay by UPI, we can pay by SimplySAVE.
No charges and if possible always pay Rs2001+. If customers are misusing and always transaction under Rs2000 then banks pay apply charges in future or also impose transaction cap.
Transaction above Rs2001+ Merchants will pay MDR charges 2%+, same like merchant already paid MDR for any credit ard transactions.
This MDR fees is paid by merchants not customers and banks earn money and then we will get rewards points.
Which are the next Credit card providers to be integrated with UPI? Will ncpi still prefer rupay for next players or will it allow visa/master/amex?
Another side, Mastercard CEO told - Indians dnt like UPI, Mastercard is secure and trustworthy. 😂😂
Amex CEO - We are watching UPI developments in the credit space closely.
Visa CEO - No news.
