Registration centres in Delhi are illegally charging hundreds of rupees for the service that is meant to be free
People blamed the overcharging on shortage of centres
UIDAI lists 32 verified enrolment centres in Delhi, although these have their smaller centres in the subdistricts

A nearby enrollment centre charges 80rs for new enrolment(which is free)
60rs for update (60 rs each for mobile number, address, email, name(spell check)! Upon asking him he told he didn’t get a single penny as payment from uidai so he’s running the centre like this!
I know there’s a number to complain 1947 but due to begging and sometimes threatening from that centre operators, people just pay & moveon

i paid 50rs when there was a lot of rush regarding this last year

I have updated name and address online for free!! It takes about a week but it is done..
Also used digi locker app to get my license, rto, aadhar, LPG etc online!! I am in love with digi locker app, it always fetches data real time from server and this way you are also updated with the latest details!! Great move by Indian government
as per the TOI article the scam is in delhi so any dimer who has gone through this… ie paying 200- 500 for aadhar
aadhaar is a big scam. they start making money right from issuing.
