https://greaterkashmir.com/article/five-kashmiri-women-pilgrims-die-due-to-heatstroke-in-saudi-arabia/307447 All week, have been following news from home https://kashmirlife.net/nine-kashmir-citizens-among-65-indian-pilgrims-who-died-during-hajj-358040 and my heart is filled with sorrow that so many who travel so long after going through many emotional, financial and other turmoil to arrange for the trip.. had to perish due to something that (at-least in 2024) could have better managed.

I am not saying that the local authorities are not doing anything.

They probably are, but also those who are not used to such weather.. have to be better prepared themselves and also be given extra help, guidance and timely help from others there.

Just like mountain trekking or visits to shrines like Maansarovar etcetera needs acclimatisation
those who are not used to the extreme dry weather and/or such heat.. too ought to be exposed to it only gradually.
But then the costs will increase. Any camps set up to first acclimatise the passengers/visitors will add to their overall cost of the trip, unless the local government there gives free/subsidised lodging boarding in such camps.

I never faced heatwave on my place but this year on May, before monsoon season arrived, we faced heatwave for the first time! My face and others , especially my fair co workers got their face burned.

The sides of my lips cracked and got dizzy, it's scary!

I feel awful for all those who are facing fatal heatwaves in dry, arid places in Bihar, Delhi, Mecca and elsewhere.

Stay in shade if possible, dehydrated and safe everyone.
