Is 50 percent basic salary benefial?
You get high hra, epf etc.
But is there any downside when some one gets huge salaries?

- hra gets to high where you wouldn't get much tax exemption.
- Epf gets high and taxed.

Absolute values do matter as there is a limit on HRA (absolute rent pm as threshold) , EPF(15K per month) beyond certain value.
Your take home salary will be less in general for high Basics.
