A word of caution, guys. Those who have booked, please read.

I had booked with 90% discount code when this loot first started. My check-in was today. I was able to reach the hotel only at evening. The Property manager made me fill up the check-in form and even offered me a free upgrade to a costlier room since it is Non-season time in this city. I was in the upgraded hotel room for 5 minutes, then the attender came and said that I have to pay 80% more than what I had paid earlier. I was expecting something like this and hence was calm. The Property manager was agitated and began by saying that he cannot let me stay unless I pay that money or sign a voucher for that amount. He says that OYO has booked me for such a low rate which he cannot accept. I refused to sign voucher, told him that I had confirmed with OYO 3 times including today that my entire amount has been fully paid and that all these conversations have been recorded. I asked him to give it in writing that he is only refusing check in due to tariff issue. He refused to give anything in writing and said that OYO has to resolve. I called OYO CC, first asked them to confirm that my order has been fully paid and then told them about the issue.When they spoke with the manager, I realised the problem.

IMPORTANT: In your booking with 90% codes, there will be 2 amounts. One is the amount that you finally paid after discount (near bottom of my bookings screen in app). There will also be a higher booking amount shown in the top as PRICE. This is the amount paid to the HOTEL by OYO. In my case, the final amount was around 50% of PRICE. Issues are arising only when the PRICE itself is lower than hotel’s expectations. The best way to avoid this problem is call the hotel in advance (not OYO), confirm that they have your booking and mention the PRICE and ask them if this is the usual Price charged by them for OYO bookings. If they say yes, most likely you won’t have a problem. Otherwise, the problem will be sorted much before your travel date.
