There was a thread on this on DnD, may be you missed that. I think if they cannot impact the prices of goods then they would give add money offers but even that opens up too many possibilities

Bank specific offers would allow these to circumvent it, but cashback is not more than 15% limited to 1000/1500 per promotion. So not good for customers.

Yes, I missed it.
Let’s hope so.

Can we see a resurgence in Woohoo offers from Amazon?

I think they cannot do that because this way they are indirectly affecting sale price. Correct me if I am wrong.

That’s most likely. BTW I have used woohoo only once during that snapdeal valentine 200 off
And after seeing many comments related to this woohoo I guess I have missed much.

The guidelines are not stopping amazon from offering discounts on their own gift cards, so maybe we can see those days again when they offered 500 extra value on buying GC worth 2000.

You dont know how good Amazon is at twisting rules in its favor to offer best discounts to customers. In earlier days when Amazon.com sourced books from the distributors only after they received an order for the title, it used to circumvent it by exploiting a loophole(it allowed ordering of out of stock books) in the ordering system of one distributor to get free shipping. Amazon used to club the desired title with some out of stock books to reach the min threshold for free shipping and avoided shipping charges. The distributor’s system cancelled the remaining order afterwards due to unavailability of the out of stock titles.

Can’t remember exactly, but towards end of 2014 if I can guess correctly
ICICI killed the deal for me this time – including wasting my time for past 2 days.
1. Loading money into Pockets wallet failed thrice (Eventually more than Rs.6000 got debited from Bank, but not reflecting in Pockets, stuck for until god-knows-when).
2. ICICI Pockets Chat customer care was unhelpful – giving out standard replies with ‘if’ clauses rather then tell me straight if my transactions were failed and will be refunded, or whether they’ll be processed and credited later. Their reply was like ‘Wait for 24 hrs, if its not credited then it would’ve been failed, in which case it will be refunded in a week’.
3. ICICI Email care replied saying this was because of Financial year start and would definitely work now. I listened to them and tried twice (Netbanking and Debit card), both failed again.
Amazon order was waiting for 24 hrs due to payment failure initially, then got auto-cancelled. Now most of the 40+ products meticulously added to cart were out of stock.
Didn’t expect ICICI, once a reputed bank that was among the first to bring modern banking tech, is giving such a poor service (this was the first time I tried any service from ICICI, probably my last time too)

Another user who got his fingers burnt using Pockets, especially by their tech team.
Well, I wrote a nice mail to Amazon care mentioning the mail IDs of a few dimers who received 900 in one shot and were also happy to share their IDs. They added Rs.300 to my account in a few hours.

Don’t be surprised in case amazon credits another 300 gv as part of actual process whenever they do it.

while banks DO have a messy time on 31st and on April first.
still if the automated remittance or clearing systems fail repeatedly then (for an organisation of THIS stature) it really raises lots of doubts on their credibility.

Why the rules against heavy discounts will help ecommerce bandwagon

do not know what were the merits of your case, but in their system; if say there are already 4-5 annotations to an order id
or even if the identified account/customer has had to reach repeatedly in a given day; then some sort of internal call flow (or chat/e-mail) routing changes.
and as you may be aware; the front-line guys have leeway up to 100 credits (worth of pacifier) and the floor supervisor (leadership team/ escalations) can humour the customer till 500.
[i think i have mentioned it somewhere earlier too.. around the time you wanted to dispose your paapi Pepe and I was like, simply return it for a new size and somewhere they may give up and also close all pending notations with up to 500 credits worth lollipop]
.
.
.
.
P.S.: i am not fully aware of the context of the conversation. [stopped dealing with the bank of the Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India and off late even Kishore Biyani, Aditya Birla and Dmart offer some kirana type things at reasonable levels so not really into AMZ for those]
