Although the customised tour packages are better for certain groups (like people of certain age elderly people tours, tours with proper Indian vegetarian meals and so on).
These are the usual tours, but management and transfers are almost always smooth.
Attractions and other entry fee for some of the places might be covered, but one may need to bear out of pocket expenses if one wishes to explore further.

As mentioned above by me, in response to bornsmart, the Indian operations/brand was purchased by Fairfax, about 7½-8 years prior to the the UK based group filing for bankruptcy.
The Indian company has no relation to its original parent, except continuing to use the same brand name.
(Same as how Henkel Germany now has no control over the Henko detergent sold in India by Jyothy Laboratories or Nokia Finland does not make or sell televisions here. Dixon Technologies makes the TVs and Flipkart India markets the Nokia TVs.)

such packages are good for old people. not if you re in the 20-40 age bracket where you can afford to spend a bit more and use the internet to look for deals and have better experiences via apps like klook,viator etc.
i personally would rather wait for a couple of months if it means i have more to spend on a tour finance wise and energy wise as well. mindboggling over the internet about various attractions and then finally getting to see them feels so much more better. rather than just pay a guide. like a trophy earned!
