same price as 18 karat gold watch. What use is this watch? Not even permanent ON time displayed in digital ones, only blank standby screen, then recharge headache and dumb syncing hassle for setting time. Not Swiss made.

After the fall of Cloudtail and Appario on Amazon India, they are probably the biggest electronics segment seller on Amazon India.
But usual Amazon policy for fulfillment is to stock the items in Amazon's own warehouses, even if items are returned to origin without delivery or for any reason the customers return after taking delivery.
In such scenarios, Amazon has contracts (authorisation) to restock the item, on a conditional basis, in the existing inventory of the seller.
Amazon contracts force sellers to devolve all rights in most cases.
Yes, you can expect a genuine item,
and yes, you SHOULD expect a fresh (never been returned) item, WITH INDIA WARRANTY.
If this is not the case, then please force the customer service associate or the ECR person to raise the RMA (return material authorisation) request.. ONLY AND ONLY under the heading/reason 'item does not match website description'.
This can be substantiated by the facts that the listing stated 'new' (fresh, unused), the listing stated India warranty and the listing never said box open, warehouse seconds or refurbished.
_br> In Amazon, any RMA/ grievance locked to the code 'item does not match website description' AUTOMATICALLY sets in motion an investigation on the seller and the concerned warehouse.
By letting the customer care select other reasons, one runs the risk of Amazon or its staff shifting the blame on the customer, even without any real investigation.
(Even if customer gets a refund, the warehouse teams are known to tarnish the account by giving fake updates that the customer returned wrong item, damaged item.
Such internal flags are not known to the customer, who often thinks that if I got the refund, then Amazon has accepted its own lacunae.)
