The new iPad Air with a whopping 8GB RAM and M1 SoC is relatively much better. Although the multitasking restrictions esp. on third-party apps running in the background makes the doubling of RAM not be as significant an improvement as it ought to be.
True but do note that the iPad Air 5th Gen has some major quality control issues (quite unlike Apple devices) – with creaking sounds coming from the back of the device. It seems a very well documented problem world wide. Kindly consider that before making your final decision to go ahead with the purchase.
