If anyone is interested they can try this at home -
Buy regular barley, roast it over low flame (your whole home will smell like baking fresh cookies!), grind it into fine powder.
Mix with milk/milk powder, cocoa powder, sugar per taste. Soy/whey protein can be added too for extra protein boost.
Incorporates all ingredients of all these drinks in the market with none of artificial flavors, preservatives, excess sugar.
There are lots of easy homemade recipes for Horlicks/Complan on the internet

can you please some other drink? I am giving Bournvita to my kid, now worried about sugar content
on a side note, back in 90s all health drinks used to come in glass bottles and they tasted like pure chocolate be it Bournvita or complan but now they taste different
If you really want your kids and family to be healthy.. abandon packaged food and start preparing everything at home. Use millets, leafy veggies , fruits , go for kacchi ghani oil.
Replace icecreams with home made smoothies.
