I have a hero 9.. i would say.. hero 10 heats up like crazy.. just watch the videos.. So.. Its either 9 or 11. buy spare batteries and thank me later 
FYI.. Go pro has excellent customer service. Had a problem with my 8 and they replaced it with 9
