But is this camera good enough? I only need one outside the house which can store atleast a week's footage on sd card and can be connected to house wifi, so I can check it when I'm away. Will it suffice or should I get a different one?

This is a wired camera, it requires DVR and doesn't have built in wifi/SD card option. You should look for a wireless camera for your purpose.
