I PERSONALLY love to eat DOSA a lot. Due to 6 reasons:
1. Health: Dosa doesn't have maida(filtered wheat flour) unlike most North Indian food like chole bhature, pav bhaji, chole kulcha, etc.
2. Fresh: Anything other than dosa can be cooked and preserved for a long( this might mean it's not fresh) but dosa by nature of its texture needs to be cooked in front of me. No chance of stale food.
3. Simple, easily available: As dosa is a simple dish, the chances of getting affected (food poisoning by it) are less. The less the number of ingredients the less the chance of getting food poisoning. It could easily be available nearby for sure.
4. Balanced Diet: Dosa doesn't come alone. It has sambar which gives watery touch when we run out of saliva while it just uplifts the eating and tasting tendency of a food. Not just that it's a balanced diet in the whole sambhal has dal which has protein, dosa potato has carbs, dosa batter has some sort of minerals, chatni has chana dal and coconut which is insanely healthy for a hot and humid country like India.
5. Cheap yet effective: 1 dosa is good enough to fill your stomach for a time. It costs around ₹100(average) in Delhi which is cheap, healthy, easily available, fresh, and lovely to eat. Usually, a complete thali with dal roti rice sabji costs ₹150 but the same combo in dosa as sabzi in sambhar, dal in sambhar, potatoes in dosa fillings, dosa for rice & chutney for sides is actually a complement of a veg thali at a cheaper price.
6. you won't get bored with repeated dosas.
Variety- dosas can have any no of accompaniments - n no of chutneys, a special side dish called vada curry, or n no of toppings easy to make even for bachelors-the batter can be easily made, or it can be bought.
Full essay on Dosa. So much effort for the prize.
