Effective price is less than the current market price, and I believe it is a safe to buy for near future consumption or may be a small investment
Effective price after discount for 2gms: 10939-1000 = 9939, which makes it 4,969/- per gm inclusive of GST die charges which are usually applicable when purchased in stores
One may also purchase it via smarbuy for additional rewards as per the card.

go to hdfc smartbuy portal..navigate to amazon or retailer of your choice, add products to your card, make your purchases…You will get additional rewards based on your card variant.
I checked pages of smartbuy and another page of Amazon for smarbuy. They don’t explain exactly what reward I will get.

Better check with customer care…And at the same time, put a transaction on your card via smartbuy and track its cashback as per the offer timeline…
Is this good time to purchase gold? As i could see there is fall in gold prices simultaneously from 20 days.
Gold has fallen 15% from its top and now it is taking some support at current level.

Why is it always that only Muthoot gold pendant is available at market rate or slightly under market price after discounts..
AZ doesnt give bank discount on any other coins or pendants that can compete with Muthoot, does it sound fishy to anyone?

Curious to know the truth, even if its an over analysis on my part.
Malabar and Bangalore Refinery used to price little less than Muthoot most of the time. But I found these three pricing close to each other.
On the bank discount part, offer is applicable only for those classified under pendants/jewelry, but the coins are always priced little less than pendants likely due to the bank discounts.
Coming to the quality, I was little skeptical for my earlier purchases, but I exchanged one such pendant for a jewelry purchase and I got the value as on that date.
Also 20% upto 200 cashback on amazon fashion can be combined with this

I bought it via smartbuy a couple of days ago, but haven’t received any confirmation email from them. Do i need to contact them?
They are not sending any emails of late. The transaction gets recorded as smartbuy Amazon in card transactions and the cashback gets credited within 90 days. On a different note, precious jewelry is exempted from tnc, we will need to see if they take it serious

I too received the cashback of 494.75 for this purchase through credit card. 
Everyone who placed order via smartbuy will receive. Just contain, and don’t be sure that we will get the same next time. The bug can be fixed anytime or cashback can be denied without any prior intimation
