Mass Fraudulent Transactions Reported by Axis Bank Credit Card Holders

🚨 Urgent Notice: Axis Bank Customers Facing Fraudulent Transactions - Investigation Needed

First of all, if you have an Axis Bank credit card, immediately disable your international transactions.

Many Axis Bank credit card holders have reported fraudulent transactions on their credit cards today without the need for OTP.

So what does this mean for you? => If you have an Axis Bank credit card, open your Axis Mobile app, navigate to credit card transaction settings, and promptly disable your international transactions.

=> If you have an Axis Bank credit card and a fraudulent transaction has already occurred on your credit card, contact Axis Bank and file a transaction dispute. Please don’t panic, the RBI already has guidelines regarding such fraudulent transactions. If you report such a fraudulent transaction within 3 days of the incident, you’ll have zero liability, meaning you won’t have to pay.

=> And if you don't have any Axis Bank credit card, then congratulations, you are safe, and you have done a great job staying away from a bank like Axis. Axis Bank didn’t post anything about this or send any warning communication to their customers. I think without a data breach from Axis Bank or its partner side, such mass fraudulent transactions are not possible. I hope the @RBI will investigate this issue with utmost importance.

No .

Only possible if international transactions are on..

Because many sites doesn't require CVV to transact.

Turn off all transactions on your Axis card now!

If you own an Axis card, be sure to stop international transactions.

Many are being charged with unexpected foreign transactions.

Login to mobile app > credit cards > select a card > control centre > international usage > click toggle to disable international txns.

RBI and Visa/Mastercard/Discover/JCB are trying their best to provide 2FA in International transaction.

But it is very difficult to implement.

RuPay card gets "2nd mover" advantages. RuPay has 2FA included from the beginning on International transactions.

But not fully live yet. Work is going on with banks and EMV 3D secure v2.3

EMV 3D Secure v2.3 required to confirm identity using OTP, Face ID, fingerprint recognition etc.

How it works on international transactions. So if you add my rupay international cc on PayPal it will either show as discover or jcb, after adding PayPal sent verification request to discover or jcb and fail. Anyone added rupay card on PayPal or other international websites successfully?

@timelord International E-com transaction through RuPay network required 2FA.

But Discover and JCB network E-com transaction don't required 2FA

70% to 80%Paypal transacitons require AutoPay (recurreing payment), that's why most RuPay cards are not working. RuPay AutoPay is not fully live yet with banks. You can directly use on International e-com website.

Here one person paid on US Harvard university. He shared on other online forum -

For international transactions, Diners Black has always been my preferred card. Thanks to the fact the website did not accept Diners and I did not want to use AU Zenith which would have been a break even case, I decided to go with SBI Rupay-JCB Debit card because of zero forex markup.

Total amount: USD 153.75

Amount in INR (on google): 12,788 @ 83.17
Amount in INR (deducted): 12,795 @ 83.21
Amount in INR (Visa Rate): 12,804 @ 83.27

Overall found JCB conversion rates to be competitive.
