Window ACs are seriously the best. I've had 2 window ACs in my house which lasted more than 12 years and hardly were serviced. The number of times I'm ending up repairing the split ACs at home is crazy. They use substandard parts on all of them

i have seen many using 25-28 years old ones.
which were imported from Dubai or Singapore by their family member in late 90's.
and cooling is still upto mark and features/buttons etc still work.

I've had a completely opposite experience
We had one LG Window AC (this was the first AC for us) during approx 2010~~
It used to draw crazy amounts of power and the electricity bill used to come in thousands with minimal usage. The AC stopped cooling within 2 yrs and the LG person found out that the compressor had died. They replaced it free of cost. Just when the compressor warranty ended, it again died. We repaired the compressor using local technician but it used to die within months. At one point I remember, we had spent more on the repairs than the cost of the AC itself and it was peak summer and the AC was useless.
We went ahead and bought a split Inverter AC from LG.
Touchwood it has been 8-9 yrs this one is running fine. Only needed to change the capacitor once. The cooling is exceptionally good and reliable.
I have completely lost trust on Window ACs since then.
