Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 series is now available in India after its launch at 12 noon today, 5 January 2023. This Redmi Note series comes with three smartphones, the Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. In this article, we will talk about the price and specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 series in India. All these mobile phones will target different kinds of users and thus it’s important to understand what’s good and bad about them. Oh by the way, the entire Redmi Note 12 series is going to be 5G this time around.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Series Price and Specifications

The Redmi Note series from Xiaomi has always been one of the biggest smartphone launches every year and this time too, the Redmi Note 12 series has heated up the Indian mobile phone market quite a bit. Also, the three Note 12 series smartphones will be targeting the budget category just like their predecessors.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ comes with a 200 MP primary camera that is said to be the best in its price range. So, let’s talk about Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro, and Note 12 Pro Plus in detail.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G Price & Specifications: 200MP Camera & 120W Charger

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ Full Specifications

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is priced at Rs 29,999 in India and buyers can apply ICICI card discount and some exchange offers to get this phone for as low as Rs 25,999.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is all about its 200MP camera. In the launch event, Xiaomi compared their Redmi Note 12 Pro+ with the likes of the iPhone 14 Pro, Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and even a professional-grade DSLR camera worth ₹7,00,000! Although we just can’t say that its camera setup is actually as good as what Xiaomi has claimed, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is definitely one of the best camera phones under Rs 30,000 in India. It comes with the latest MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset.

Considering the base price of 30K, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ may not be that exciting. The specs and the overall experience of the phone would be good but this price tag seems to be a bit higher. What do you think?

Now speaking of the specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus leaves no stone unturned. It has a powerful processor, 200 MP primary camera with OIS, and a beautiful AMOLED 120 Hz display. But the wide-angle camera of 8 MP is still a big let down for many.

Also, the phone comes with a 120W fast charger that would charge the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ in just 19 minutes. But these are just the specs and the overall experience would greatly depend on the MIUI. Speaking of which, why don’t you check out our article on the Best Android Smartphone UI?

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G Price in India and Specifications

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G Price in India

Priced at Rs 17,999 the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 mobile phone seems a bit overpriced and MI fans may not be happy with this decision from the brand.

The Redmi Note 12 5G mobile phone is the cheapest phone from the Note 12 series that holds great value for the price sensitive Indian smartphone users. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 is one of the first phones to be launched with the latest Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor. Also, the Note 12 5G comes with an AMOLED 120 Hz display, which is another highlight of this phone.

And, the big battery of 5000 mAh seems quite big and paired with the MIUI, it would give a great battery life to the users.

Considering the specifications, the Redmi Note 12 5G seems to be a bit overpriced. We have always known Xiaomi for its pocket-friendly prices and now that the Note 12 costs more than ₹15,000 it’s really difficult to see the brand in the same way.

Also, the brand continues its ‘number of cameras’ game with its 8 MP wide angle camera that will be available in India only.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Price and Specifications: OIS & MTK 1080

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Price and Specs

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro costs Rs 24,999 which again, may not be appreciated by tech enthusiasts.

Though, the camera of this smartphone looks promising too with a 50 MP OIS sensor that would give great results in low light conditions. Also, it comes with a 67W charger in the box and a 5000 mAh big battery. The processor in the Note 12 Pro is the same as the Note 12 Pro+, the MediaTek Dimensity 1080. So in terms of camera and overall performance, the Redmi Note 12 Pro may not be that far behind the Note 12 Pro+.

Sorry to say and use harsh words but it looks as if team Xiaomi was on drugs that too sasta/cheap ones that they launched at this price point.

I remember I had bought Redmi Note 4 in 2017 I guess at around 13k and it was the best phone. Used it until 2021 gave absolutely no issues.

For comparison I have bought a Realme Narzo 30 at 10k during 2021 in BBD with 6GB Ram/G95/48MP Cam/33W Charging however in 2022 the Redmi "Note 12 5G" has basically the same performance processor, benchmarks adds an AMOLED display with 5G and charges 15.5k for it that's a 50% increase (also not to mention this is discounted price) that too for 4GB ram?!! Seriously? 4GB ram at 15.5k discounted price?! 😵

At 21k 12 Pro is giving 50MP Camera

12 Pro Plus costs reaching 27k with Dimensity 1080

They are also launching it with Android 12 when every other device is getting Android 13 and they'll give 2 OS upgrades so technically you get only one OS upgrade.

Not to mention all the prices are after "exclusive launch discounts" 😑

Every other phone in market now (Nothing, Iqoo 9SE, Realme GT Neo, Pixel 6A, others) looks much more VFM or in Dimers language a steal or loot compared to this.

Oh! You also get buggy MIUI that has privacy issues somewhat, Motherboard that may fail anytime and other issues as freebies

I was very excited about this launch and really like the looks of the device however the price is really off - that too by a far margin.

Atleast it's good this much off pricing makes our current devices seem much more value for money.

Even Oppo, Vivo who were mocked by everyone for launching waste phones are launching decent phones at this price range.

Instead of getting a Redmi Note at 30k approx wait for BBD and buy an iPhone by spending a bit more.

Sorry for the long post, I was a fan of Redmi Note series and have owned multiple devices however the pricing of this one is by far the worst. 😕

Note 12 pro is only worthy at 20k mark max with 8/256 configuration. Anybody paying more than this deserves a nord 3 which will be way better in under 30k segment.

The basic reason for purchasing Redmi and MI phones bcz of Qualcomm chipset, Gradually MI is removing Qualcomm chipset and adopting cheap media tek chipsets but cost not decreasing, It is better to not buy a Redmi and MI phone with other than Qualcomm chipset

It is upgradable but it's better to consider some other options as RN12P is not value-for-money.

Once upon a time, they fought with specs.

Nowadays they are fighting with elevated prices.

Redmi classic note 4/128 gb costs 18k same if go for iqoo z6 lite costs 13k. 5k premium just for AMOLED display. Even poco x4 cost lesser with better specifications. Bye Bye xiaomi.

And Xiaomi amoled displays look just like LCD. I bought a redmi note 11. Screen looks just like LCD screen. Very average colours and brightness. Saw a galaxy f23 with a swiggy guy, the colours were literally popping out of the screen. Felt bad.

On the other hand the inflated pricing looks fine from an mrp point of view. Retail shops will demand high mrp. Even current note 11 6/128 has mrp of 20k.

But yeah the higher variants make absolutely no sense. Paying 20-30k to get mediocre hardware and then spammed by ads on top of it is crazy . Better off to buy Pixel 6a or nothing phone in that range
