Amazon Prime Video is gearing up for the streaming of 2 recently released blockbusters Kantara and Ponniyin Selvan. These movies have gathered appreciation from critics and audiences throughout the country.
Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan has collected ₹200 crores from its regional audience alone while Kannada Movie Kantara is said to be ‘Once in a Decade’ movie. These movies are currently running in theaters in India.
Kantara is now officially annouced to stream from November 24, a bit delayed because of overwhelming response via taut storytelling and best climax. Ponniyin Selvan is now streaming from 4th November on Prime Video in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada with English subtitles. Both these movies are slotted for Amazon Prime Video. However, Ponniyin Selvan was earlier available to watch online on Rent via Prime Video Store at ₹199.
As per our Dimer 'equalizer', Kantara should be watched in theaters with good sound/speakers to get the real experience of this masterpiece. Also, the dimer recommends to watch it in original language with English subtitles.
Kantara Movie broke all records to become the best goosebumping blockbuster of all time. Meanwhile, Ponniyin Selvan garnered ₹455 crore worldwide which is the highest for any Tamil movie.

Very disappointed with you DD. Kanthara is a Kannada movie. Its from Sandalwood, not Tamil industry. It was dubbed to Tamil and other local languages like Hindi due to heavy demand. Someone was calling KGF a Tollywood movie the other day even though its from Sandalwood. That kind of mistake shouldn't be happening on these posts.
Kanthara should be watched in theaters only for the first time. Its a whole new experience.
Do not wait for OTT. Buy tickets and encourage good movies like these.
cannot visit the theaters often because of baby etc. investing in a good home setup helps. movie outings these days are not cheap anyway. a good setup will workout in midterm. not talking about soundbars but good speakers
Both these movies are worth watching and experiencing on BIG screen. I had hoped that GoK would have atleast made Kantara tax free.
These days OTT have strange strategy of releasing Hindi dubbed separately or on other platforms (for example Rocketry Hindi version is only on Voot select). Hope they don't mess like this with these 2 movies and release all versions simultaneously (though I suspect PS1 Tamil version might come late as it's still doing good in theatres).

I am big fan of the movie myself especially for the efforts put it by Rishab Shetty & entire team and how they executed it. Excellent. A Must watch in theatre. Music is on another level. Kannada industry is making waves in the film industry last couple of years with so many good movies and some heros like the trio Rishab , Rakshit and Raj B shetty are taking kannada industry to another level with their simplicity and movie making

This kind of rent a movie is kind of irritating after paying that much for subscriptions.
I rarely watch a movie on Amazon/zee5/hotstar/voot/sonyliv/aha,because of their poor response while forwarding and mostly download and watch even though i have all subscriptions.Netflix on the other hand is awesome.
Why pay for a movie (in addition to subscription,)when you can download for free and not face server issues
P.s i watched radheshyam on prime,quality is nowhere near theatre quality(hotstar movies quality is awesome though)

I bet the so-called primary film industry aka bollywood never able to create such films.
PS1 is very disappointed movie... kantara is Best " vera level" . Recommed to watch in Theatres.

Didn't like kantara, the plot is average but the music in it was very good. Even RRR was also boring.. fighting with tiger, throwing bikes (yes, john abraham did that too + throwing helicopter with 3 John Abrahams?!! in a "non superhero genre"), reminded me of daffy duck fighting with bugs bunny cartoons 😆
All these movies are overhyped.
Not saying that all movies made in India are crap because the art movies which majority of Indian moviegoers don't give a crap to, are of superior quality. That's when I learned that even actors working in commercial cinemas actually have talent but they would prefer earning money over going broke.
So the commercial movies with below average quality are made due to the high demand of the mass.

Hindi version is already out but the audio is hall recorded (Cam)
Regarding Kantara -
FYI to all who "want to watch" but waiting for "OTT release", go and watch in your nearby cinema hall ( one with advanced speaker / sound systems ).. This particular movie is "an experience" that you cannot recreate on a screen at home..
Since the storyline is not extremely complicated, better watch it in the original language ( KANNADA / ಕನ್ನಡ ) with subtitles..
