as per current Amazon policy (and depending on personal mood swings of CSAgents) the maximum one would have to wait for refund is … EDD + 2 business days.
so if esitmated delivery date is, say January 01, 20Nn to January 03, 20Nn ..
then, unless the seller/system reschedules the bl××dy timelines, they cannot make one wait (cannot make the buyer wait) and within two business days of (January 03, 20Nn) lapse of EDD, things (refund process) starts moving.

I cancelled the order while the status was in Preparing for Dispatch. While ordering, Seller name was “new fashion” few hours later the seller name changed to “Brand Deals” or something like that(I dont remember exact name). Now another seller entered for selling the same disk “icon film”. BEWARE GUYS. you might need to do lot of followups if wrong/Fake product delivered, Dont waste your TIME

Haha, i m sure a classic old school trick will be played by seller. They will send via private courier and the item will be different or fake and then u will have to chase amazon for refunds. Also never do COD for new sellers. Don’t fall for such things. Itna paisa bacha ke kaha leke jaana hai (T – new sellers are fake most of the times ) 
aside of the fact that non prime orders are hardly (if ever) available for POD now-a-days,
with Amazon i actually prefer POD… especially for unreliable orders.

ONE DOES NEED TO BE CAUTIOUS😛 THOUGH that only that waybill number is accepted as is confirmed in the Amazon system.
(if sellers update another waybill number after initially giving something else, then frontline CSAgents only see the latest entry)
so to avoid fake parcels, only accept physical cash paid POD orders after confirming on call/chat and getting a written confirmation of the waybill number (on e-mail/ chat) just 2 minutes before accepting.

i think they did roll out/test IMPS refunds, but even otherwise… waiting just for the refund to show up in the bank account (after Amazon initiates it) is easier than the hassles of paying first.
addendum: not that it needs to be told, but for those who may be unaware. AmazonIN, even in 2013-2014, did (after coaxing) issue refund to ‘Gifts and Credits’ for COD orders.
although standard procedure was to issue a paper cheque refund. (i still have the 85rupee cheque, for which they must have paid Deutsche Bank 100-150INR to print and (paid) Bluedart 100-125INR to deliver. never encashed any which were under 100INR. kept them as a memoir gift. But mainly because ‘name on account’ used to be ‘Jeffrey Bezos’. …. so the system sent that information to the bank and the chewues are issued in the name of Jeffrey Bezos😛. since then, they, would always call and check what correct nsme it should be, besides cursing me in their hearts snd requesting me to have the correct name on account. ).
Its delivered by private courier not by Amazon..so not accepted parcel
