RememberMe...

I have no idea about hockey. Feeling sad for the Team loss. Somehow enjoyed our team efforts.

Can anyone brief the mistakes(if any) of Indian Team today? Seems like hockey is a phacked up game with stupid rules.

Because of less aggressive play when having lead.

Indian players are loosing each sports because of too much defence.

In badminton lakshay sen was having lead on last 2 matches but still he lost.

Indian hockey team having 1-0 lead and then lost.

And in many sports Indian players can't play aggressively and eventually loose.

Don't know why coaches are useless for them.

Indians can't handle pressure. It's how we are brought up. We have heavy anxiety, especially those who do know how good they are. New gen is changing but those playing in sports are in a mindset older than even ours. Indians need foreign psychologists to overcome this barrier. China did it on a massive scale and put fear into the players to win by any means necessary. Indians don't have that fear from the govt where china used to punish your family if you lose.

Instilling fear to punish family is extremely cruel.. I would never want our Govt to do that.. my view is that corruption in each and every sport in our country is the biggest hindrance.. there are so many kids picking up different sports (athletics, swimming, table tennis, boxing, wresting, badminton, gymnastics, etc. etc. etc.) are thousands of them would be really good but then they loose the opportunity or interest because they are not spotted early and nurtured to become the talent that can win Gold.. and I also agree with you that we Indians are not mentally tough for which the nurturing from childhood should help as the mental strength can be part of the training since the age where mind is still able to absorb things and change and become stronger.

In this olympics I can quote three examples where if we were mentally strong we could have progressed.. Sreeja Akula vs. Sun TT QF match where she was up 10-5 in the first 2 games but she lost both.. Lakshay Sen vs. Axelson as wel as his QF match where he was considerably up but then lost.. and the hockey team who couldn't handle pressure against Germany in the Semi Final match.. there will be many other examples which I can't think of.. and there are 10s of other sports where we dont even compete in Olympics whereas I am sure we will have kids interested in all these sports and doing well later to give away their interest and become part of the usual rat race to earn money as they were never picked up and shown the path to glory.
