Vi Recharge Query (solved)

Good afternoon, Dimers

Before the recent Vodafone Idea (Vi) price hike, I had queued up ₹479 (1.5 GB per day for 56 days) recharge packs on my prepaid phone number.

The final queued-up recharge pack will expire in 5 days.

Now, the ₹479 pack is priced at ₹579. Nothing has changed, expect for the price.

If I recharge with the ₹579 pack today, will it activate after the current pack expires, or will it activate immediately?

Thank you for your time and inputs

Thank you for your pointing this out @deals_greed . My current pack is 'truly unlimited' (₹479) and my next pack will also be 'truly unlimited' (same plan but now priced at ₹579). I don't have any lumpsum. However, I have this benefit called 'Vi Guarantee' which credits extra 10gb per month for 13 months. I have 8 gb remaining from the 10 gb that was credited this month. Will this 8gb be forfeited if I queue up a 579 pack today?

@NeoM

Vi Guarantee 130GB, 10GB every 28 days, 13 times, is a dedicated pack, renews as per the scheduled date (29th day), irrespective of any current / stack recharges, subject to an active pack of minimum ₹299 or above.

Completed the recharge, queued up without any issues and the extra data was not forfeited.

Good evening NeoM,

Packs with one time data, one time SMS queue up on each other.. ONLY FOR the validity.

Meaning, if one does multiple recharges of a 28 days pack with "N" GB one-time data, unlimited calls, 300 SMS on January 01

Then, service validity will extend by 28 days × number of times recharged.

BUT as on date, VI immediately starts data validity, SMS validity.

Say you do two recharges of a 28 days pack which has 6GB data and 300 SMS.
Then, irrespective of usage or unused
the 12GB data, 600 SMS (from twin recharges) will lapse on day 28.

But VI will extend the service validity 28 plus 28 is equal to 56 days.

Previously DoT/TRAI made the operators psy each other 6 paise per minute.. as 'interconnect' charges.

Not since interconnect charges are not there

out of pity, as alms (भीख), in the above scenario, VI would give unlimited calling for 56 days.
But they will claim that both packs (recharged on January 01), expired on January 28.

For truly unlimited (with limited high-speed daily data) packs of similar nature
...Airtel, Voda, Idea allow full stacking, queuing.

If your daily data, daily SMS, unlimited calling pack (benefits) are practically same in both plans.. then ALL benefits will get stacked in toto.

https://myvi.in/help-support/vi-customer-care-number lists the 10-digit numbers for all the circles that they are in.
(Like 9086012345, 9702012345, 9814012345 and so on).

Between 6 a.m. and midnight, reaching out to human support is not that difficult.

My usual way is to call one of the 10-digit customer care number from ANY number and then navigate to the 'report loss of sim card/ stolen phone' menu.. in the IVR.

Both Airtel, Idea.. do eventually route the call to human support
... if one keeps doing trial and error in the 'report lost card' menu.

Else 199 too has options to connect to human, WITHOUT getting charged.
(Thuglife Bharti Airtel DTH used to charge 25paise per minute from the balance.. even to speak to an agent. I think Airtel does still threaten to charge some amount to the main balance of mobile/ telecom customers.. if one calls via 199/121.
The trick with Airtel is to connect to their postpaid team for free, then say 'oops sorry' and have them transfer to the prepaid team.
Or keep zero main balance😛, so there is nothing to deduct from!)
