I wonder how many people in our country don't even know about these things.
I and in my immediate family members and friends never paid for challan of our 2 wheelers and 4 wheeelers to police directly.
We have 3 lawyers in family. 2 in Allahabad High Court and 1 in Lucknow Bench of Allahabad Highcourt.
We paid ₹1500 max till date for a Challan worth 25k in 2022.
Rest we wait till the Challan goes upto 60-70k and get it sort out for 2k to 3k.
I know this is not something we should encourage but court knows that police sometimes does it intentionally in the name of Traffic Months and Traffic Rules.

Lok Adalat is the saviour. Various settlements can be done through it, apart from the amount it saves lots of time and energy.
I want to know that while you waited for lok Adalat hearing were you able to renew your PUC as challan was already generated?
What I know that if any challan is pending they don't allow renewal

I’ve told this million times on DD, if any traffic police men harass you for traffic challan, say in attitude and you’ll take care of it in Lok adalat. These guys harass us for no reason and think they are above the law.
Even though I got the balls since everyone in my family is either in DP or Crime branch but I’ve learned this from my family itself. Lok adalat is a blessing for us who get 5-20k challan every few months. Thanks to my alcohol. 😂
I jave 4 5 overspeeding challans...can it be settled in lok adalat if same offence is there multiple times?

Don't know if this is relatable to this post but I came to know about the RBI ombudsman through DD (it's been popularised by banks only in recent times through grievance redressal mechanism) My friend got 10 Rupees note instead of 500 from an HDFC ATM. Upon visiting the bank they told such things are impossible to happen and nothing can be done despite him personally knowing the cash officer. Wrote tons of complaints to general CS, nodal level 1, 2 and principal but of no use. I finally raised this with RBI ombudsman the very next day there was a miracle. The manager called him and apologized. Assured him that the full amount will be refunded soon. My friend was so happy and I was seen as a superhero! Educating people about their rights which they were not aware of is something special and kudos to you for this post bro! Kg+

My 21k challan got settled in 300rs, 1k for helmet and 20k for pucc. Total 3 challans were issued on bike.
Any similar adalat in UP as well? I remember I was driving in Dehradun last year and got 2k e-challan for overspeeding. Paid full 2k then
National lok Adalat is held in every court.
He he he.....i was fined in dwarka for overspeeding...my speed was 65 and the speed limit was 60 there....so I decided not to pay any challan ..my amount was 2k or 5k....i don't remember....my case went to virtual court ...i did nothing.... finally my challan was quashed without me doing anything

80 challans...I would have told police to revoke his license unless there was some resaonable cause.
Park+ is junk, its not detecting my challanas, even same in paytm also. Only cred detected all challlans and showed me, I am also waiting for something to clear my challans, 1000 for car and 3100 for 2 wheeler are pending.

Itna easy ho jayega sabkuchh to offense badhega what i feel..baki kuchh tuchiye to hate hain chalan karne wale bhi..abd 60 se 61 ho jaye to chalan kar de.. thoda bahut to manage kar hi sakte hain.. baki helmet ko os categary se nikal hi dena chahiye.. jo log chashma lagate hain.. wo helmet use kare and barish ho jaye.. accident pakka hai..helmet to mere sar ke liye hai na.. duare ka kya jayega.. maine nahi oahna main marunga..
I agree for Challans on helmets and seat belts.
They should be reduced to negligible amount. Would prevent corruption as well.
Same happened with me last year but my challan case was auto assigned in lokadalat and got WhatsApp message of court date . What's the process to book appointment myself ?

Which Lok Adalat to be Approached
As per section 18(1) of the Act, a Lok Adalat shall have jurisdiction to determine and to arrive at a compromise or settlement between the parties to a dispute in respect of -
(1) Any case pending before; or
(2) Any matter which is falling within the jurisdiction of, and is not brought before, any court for which the Lok Adalat is organised.
Provided that the Lok Adalat shall have no jurisdiction in respect of matters relating to divorce or matters relating to an offence not compoundable under any law.
How to Get the Case Referred to the Lok Adalat for Settlement
(A) Case pending before the court.
(B) Any dispute at pre-litigative stage.
The State Legal Services Authority or District Legal Services Authority as the case may be on receipt of an application from any one of the parties at a pre-litigation stage may refer such matter to the Lok Adalat for amicable settlement of the dispute for which notice would then be issued to the other party.
