FRAUD by LENOVO India.. THINK 10 TIMES before buying LENOVO SMARTPHONE !!!

I was cheated by Lenovo India not once but multiple times !

1) Phone was kept in service center for 120 days and even after that phone was returned UNREPAIRED !

2) LIED CONSTANTLY by service center and Lenovo operation head of East India Mr Shantonu Majumder that Motherboard and touchpad has been REPLACED but it WAS NOT (have call recordings as proof which i mailed lenovo India)

Shantonu majumder Operation Head of lenovo for East india was instructing the Lenovo service center in Siliguri guy named Arun to order part and still not replace it.. even asked him to wipe the phone properly and keep it for few weeks or month so that it seems that motherboard and touch pad has been replaced .. fortunately he was speaking via my phone and the call gt recorded !!!

3) Made me travel 1200kms exclusively to collect saying phone has been repaired but it wasnt although service center and Lenovo Senior confimed and both knew I would be travelling 1200kms and assured me thrice !! (since gave phone in another city since for work I was there and warranty was to expire in 3 days) (have call recording proof already mailed to lenovo)

And on top the owner started shouting at me to go back without collecting the phone .. i mean WTF I travelled 1200kms that too after Lenovo Senior Shantonu and the service center confirmed me thrice that phone has been repaired .. they knew i will be travelling 1200kms and still didnt repair neither they did Do software Update

4)Willfully marked in system that phone delivered to customer in 7 days although given after 120 days (I was unaware of thos fraud about this got to know recently)

5) mailed lenovo after 25 days of submission that service center isnt repairing phone still they didnt tell me that as per system its showing delivered in 7 days and simply told u will get it soon NOTHING MORE

6) Customer care number is not reachable at all.. it will connect during non business hours but no executive will be available to speak to u .. and between 10 to 6 that is during business hours it wont connect at all (video proof of 2 mins:

)

7) If by mistake you mail them or post on Facebook or Twitter they will reply the same thing that you will get your phone back soon (120 days and still soon WOW)

8)Even after 50 DAYS of disclosing the fraud to lenovo with all proofs still I havent been issued a replacement handset or any compensation for the harassement and loss of my time and money!!

Moreover they have even taken the defective handset before 18 days !!

9) Had exchanged around 64 mails over these 50 days with Lencare executive Sridhar Raghavendra ([email protected]) since he doesnt call or ignores mail most of the times

10) even crucial information which can be told over 2 mins of call but lenovo executives stretch them over 7 to 8 emails in 5 hours

11) For eg lenovo executive wanted me to submit the handset today itself for replacement for which he didnt cal but mail and on top he gave only address but didnt provide the phone number of service center for which I had to mail him back twice and wait for 2 hours to get the phone number

So to Sum up even after 170 days of harassement I still dont have even the defective or the Replacement phone with me and Only HOPE that Lenovo might issue a replacement soon !! sad

Even many shopkeepers in Delhi mumbai Kolkata and many other parts of india feel the same

Problem can happen with any company so don’t make Lenovo an exception.
If you open a similar thread in the name of samsung, nokia, lava, jwalamukhi, blah blah etc you will find grievers for almost all companies.

Bro,
I myself have got into this situation a lot of times and I might be of some help to you, based on my experience.

  1. Akosha or Online consumer forums are of no help. Akosha will ask you for money after some days of complaint filing and will sit idle after then and other forums will close your complaint after 2-3 months without even letting you know that what did they do at their end.
  2. Pehredaar already gets too many emails dails and they have to pick 3-4 complaints for their show,..so it’ll be your luck.

File a case in consumer forum but find out ,Lenovo must have mentioned something like all cases will be of ‘xyz’ area jurisdiction.

  • 1)You will have to write an application to the consumer court stating your case details , the harassment faced, proofs, compensation required etc..
  • 2)Hire a lawyer or fight for yourself will be your own choice.
  • 3)You have to be present on hearings.
  • 4)This process might take 3-6 months as they have timeline to finish and close a case in consumer court, they work different from normal judicial courts.

Some suggestions:-
Post on their International FB page.
Find email addresses of senior officials outside India and shoot them emails providing all the proofs to put pressure on Lenovo India phones division.
Spread the word in other forums too

Once bitten twice shy

Bought Lenovo laptop. HDD crashed in 6th month. Keyboard had to be replaced. Screen stopped working in 2 years. So think before buying Lenovo, whether are you saving a 4-5 thousand (cheaper than Dell) or you are wasting your money in the long run, the mental harassment is just too much.

Anyways my deep sympathy with my friend Sid as he faced and still facing this particular issue.
May be Lenovo was bored and they wanted someone to play with to isko hi katputli bana diya hahaha.

Still kitna bhi shikayat karlo for me Lenovo is best and there products are of top quality and I have lots of lenovo phones and I am going to buy even Lenovo K4 Note.
Lenovo owns Motorola and I love Motorola Too.

Lenovo sold maximum number of 4G phones to hum sab kya pagal hain jo kharid rahe hain.

I am waiting for my phone Huawei G610 from more than one year misplaced by Huawei Authorized service center. Two service center involved both gets closed, now someone please tell me what can i do in detail. It will be a great help, i am afraid only of misuse of my phone.

After reading the whole conversation from start to end…. Let me share a wonderful experience (Some Sweet after a spicy food).

I had purchase Yureka last feb 2015..last month the loudspeaker went dead….i contacted the yureka customer care ((Believe me its sick and almost worst than shit)). After a month harassment , i called up Amazon india and threaten them saying you people were involved in promoting & launching the device on your marketplace.

Believe it or not : The Amazon customer care just told me one thing——- Sir, you can return your phone and we`ll give you full refund.

I return the phone for which the warranty will be over by 5th Feb 2016.

Note: I received full refund.

Yes problem can happen with any company and any employee or service center may indulge in fradulent acts but the way the company handles it after knowing of the fraud makes a lot of difference .. even after disclosijg the fraud to lenovo with all proofs of audio clips and call recordings they havent done anything rather thaj exchanging 64 mails over these 50 days ..i never complained abt the quality of products of lenovo but of the aftwr sales and support part .. as u said only for 1 of ur lenovo phone u visited service center and based on that how can u say that its good ..maybe ur issue was too small and thats why resolved same day without submitting the phone.. u didnt face their aftersales yet and so u cant comment of their shitty pathetic after sales and support!!!

I am sorry to say but U are being judgemental here and have preassumed them to be good .. !!!

Asus customer care is too good…. Hasselfree and quick too… replaced touchpad and display within 10days… even though display had a minor yellow dot in a corner….. true service…. i have same experience for two seperate times ….

Lenovo was never a good company. They earned some good repo by acquiring IBM Thinkpad business but that also is going bad now days. Same is the case with Motorola. Its a chepo chinese company. Even the plastic they use is cancer causing. Stay away from Lenovo.

Somebody should file a petition to ban Lenovo in India for cancer causing plastic, high radiation levels and bad service.

Me too, had Yureka broke the screen but was usable. I flashed a wrong rom and the phone was dead, contacted mmx for screen replacement, I didnt share that the ph is dead too and they quoted 3k for screen replacement, pickup the phone from my place and after a month dropped back with a new phone and I paid 3k cash. I thought 1 month time is worst I ever faced with a customer service but was lucky to get a working phone back. Lenovo is mother of all I guess lol

do share your experience with jabong, bluedart etc or would request you to make separate thread to create awareness among dimers on what can be done or proper action in such cases .
I think the main problem here in india is attitude of us ( consumers ) we let it go i.e whatever the companies may be doing we dont sue or file case in court.
Imagine same kind of behaviour by these compqanies in us or some other countries ?
Lack of seriousness of consumer forums/courts towards this injustice of these companies is also responsible.
