Defective Item Returned - NO REFUND!

Hi,
I had purchased a 3g modem from Shopclues.com hoping that it will take care of my day to day surfing needs. However when i received the product, i soon came to realise that the product had Manufacturer Defect . The modem had the problem of getting disconnected as if someone had physically pulled it out from the USB socket, just like physical disconnection. I immediately initiated the return procedure which is available on shopclues under the buyer protection programme.
The defective product was received back by the seller within 3-4 days. However when i did not hear anything from them, i started sending reminders, i even made calls to their customer support who only gave me empty assurances about the refund / replacement. I can confirm it now that their buyer protection programme is a sham!
Now around 15 days have passed since the seller received back the faulty product but it seems that shopclues is not interested in refunding or replacing the defective product.
I might go for a legal action against them if they fail to respond within the next few days.
I am writing it with a heavy heart. But i thought i must share this information with everyone so that prospective buyers can remain vigilant. I’ll only say that your experience with this site will remain smooth only till you dont have to return a defective product.
