Ordered MI youth edition earphones from GeekBuying.com.. They didn’t charge anything because it’s a small packet. But it took 60 days to reach.
U heard someone bought Gionee smartphone and he was charged 35% Customs and some other taxes. So, it’s a matter of luck and the size of your package
A dimer bought iPhone replica and was charged 50% of the price as customs

I have bought many $50-$100 SoCs and never was charged any extra fee. Maybe they might not know their real worth and think them as some electronics board.
Duty depends on the cost of your item.
Ask the seller to mark the item as gift and quote price as low as he can.
Upto 20$ you need to pay any excise duty.
Have ordered mother board 4 times and asked the seller to quote price as 20$ and mark it as gift..
4 times i got the product in right time. Within a month..
so i need to request the seller to quote the price $20 and send it as a gift only?

Yes below 20$ quoted gift doesn’t have duty.

It’s not $20 actually, it is Rs.10000 at the upper limit of the prices in India. And if shipped by an online retailer or merchant even if it is marked as gift it will attract customs + non-declaration fines. Gift can only be marked by Individuals and samples can be marked by merchants.

Yeah value/status of shipper really doesnt matter. My $600 goods shipped by amazon.com had been cleared without customs and amazon had refunded me the customs fee automatically. Sometimes even $10 goods by amazon has been charged customs as I didn’t receive any refund for it.

I don’t think sbi will work.
As of now. Only ICICI, HDFC, AMEX, S&C, and AXIS PLATINUM are working.

Depends on what you want to buy. I usually buy memory cards, pendrives, SoCs, processors, graphics cards, ram, tabs, PCs. Wait till “friday” and even cyber monday. Don’t purchase now as you might really not get good deals on them.
Edit- don’t plan on buying stuff which are heavy. Shipping will cost you too much

Posting such deals is really difficult. There are “slickdeal” forums just like this in US where such deals get posted with automated scripts and people there buy it more faster than loot deals here.
Even though not a loot I have seen $100 ebay gift cards selling at $95 gone so fast. So don’t expect loot deals but good deals could be bought.
Would like to buy a DOOGEE X5.
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/In-Stock-Origina...

Just curious why did you zeroed on this. Even with the $5 off coupon you will have to pay $65. Thats abt Rs 4k not accounting for currency conversion charges, custom duties if any. Infocus M2 4G for Rs 5k is a better deal. You get “reliable” after sales service. Plus it can be had for 10% less usually. Do correct me if am wrong.

There are no currency conversions charges since Aliexpress let us to pay in INR. And I liked the phone, its design and its reviews. Price is around 4K depending on seller. When buying a low brand phone I am sure that I’m not going to get proper service whether it is Indian or Chinese. As from reviews I understand Doogee is a good option for 4K. When I searched Infocus I could see that it is nowhere in stock and didn’t like its design. I was about to buy Yu Yunique for 4999 but its price was hiked to 6499. I had bought 2 replacement power button for my S3 from aliexpress through china post for just 100/- and it reached me within 2 weeks. So thought of buying phone from them. Thats all. But if I have to pay atleast 10% duty then I will change my mind. So most probably I will not go forward.
1) custom depends on the item and your kismat
2) yes
